Sup guys, nooby here, now I know that an automatics kinda jolts when you shift , particularly reverse, but the jolt is kinda hard comes with a "thud". Now I've checked the fluid levels while hot and it was on HOT. So fluids not a problem.
Another thing when I come to a stop at a stop sign the downshift is kinda rough too....I hope its not a HUGE problem like a tranny swap cause I'm broke as hell:( but I love my 92 TSi......:) any feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Most likely a worn motor mount. The stock ones are crap so look into upgrades.

Replace your motor mounts, for sure. I have this exact same problem and I have already diagnosed it to be the mounts. The posters above me are right on.
