so let me get this straight. the o2 sensor is for pollution control and isnt really necessary ive heard. that being true, i was wondering if it would be possible to fake the signal that the ecu gets from the o2, much like the 10k potentiometer stops fuel cut. it would basically send a signal telling the ecu that everything is okay. would this work? or am i wrong...i assume of the values the o2 sends you could just send it ones that made the engine think everything was fine. now, why do this? o2s are expensive and they tend to go out for alot of people and this could cost alot less than new o2s.

You cannot fake this.

O2s are $60, usually good for at least 50k miles.

At WOT ECU doesn't take input from O2 sensor.
when not at WOT ECU uses input from O2 sensor to adjust fuel to give best milege.

Anything you do would just mess up the car's drivability and gas milege.
