If you have access to all the parts from the 90 you will be fine.

These are the parts you need:

90 tranny
90 Transfer Case
90 Shifter
90 Trasfer case (different spline T case in 93)
90 Drive Shaft, and rear end. The rear end in the 5-spd has a different gear ratio, therefor if you use a 90 tranny with a 93 AT rear end, the vc will burn up.
Front axles should be the same
Rear Axles should be the same

Some other parts you will need:
Pedal Assembly
Shifter Cables
Clutch
Flywheel
Flywheel bolts

I converted my FWD, which is a lot easier. To be honest if your AT is stock, sell it, and buy a 5-spd, it will be A LOT is easier.

If you can find the 94 Tranny and all the other stuff that Peter listed. It will be alot easyer then droping that 90 tranny in. I think there is some bell housing changes done from 90 to 93. I could be wrong I will look it up. The reason why I am telling ya to drop the 94 tranny in is because its the strongest one out of all the 1g years. Come to think of it I was talking to some one about the trannys and he said he could not put the 94 tranny in his 91 DSM. So there is a bell housing issue here. So find a 92 93 or 94 tranny. So find the drive train and tranny all in the same year and it should bolt right up. And the shifter cables shifter boot knob. You have to swap out the brake pedle and put in two pedles. So its alot of work. Good luck.

94 trannies are not the strongest trannies. People seem to associates strength with smooth shifting. The double 2nd synrco on the 94 is *nice*. I am not really too familiar with the internal parts of the years. But I think 90's came with stronger shift forks, but weaker sliders, than 92s, and 94s came with some better/ weaker parts. Not too sure though.

A 94 bell housing should have no problem bolting up to a 90. I've seen people even put 95 trannies on 91-90s. Just requires some enlarging of the some of the bolt holes.

The pedal switch is a good time. I've done it twice. ;)
