I have put in my own flapper door and 10K potentio meter. I just got my AFC and was wondering if I should take the pot. meter out. I know that all it is doing is lieing to my computer and the AFC will be adding to the lie.
Also, the flapper door? I lost my idle with this but also the fuel cut. I was thinking the idle is gone because the flapper door is flapping at idle. If I remove it can I adjust the AFC low enough to compensate for the extra air flow. Has anyone in here gone from this set-up to the AFC.
Feel free to move this if you don't think it's advanced, you won't hurt my feelings.

Do you have a weight on the flapper door to keep it from moving at idle?

No. And mine is made out of aluminum. But will I need one anyway with the AFC.

If you can adjust the idle with the afc then probably not.

If you have the new style AFC you should be able to remove the door and the pot (or turn the pot to 0). Then dial up the 1000 rpm setting on your lo-setting on the AFC to like 35~50%... until you get your idle back. With my stock injectors I had to have it at +45% to get my idle back... now with my 550s it's about 30~35%.
If you have the old style AFC and you hacked a lot off the lower section of the MAF then you probably won't be able to richen it back up enough to restore your idle.
You will get better and more linear readings with the door out. So take it out if you can get your idle right.

Ive come to a conclusion and im wondering how the hell al blaha is getting 130+ mph from his car on a 1g mas. I have a fully hacked mas and mine is dropping counts watching the hz reading on the afc, looks like a richter scale. My car doesnt knock in the first 3 gears but 4th comes on and it knocks all over the place and timing gets yanked. Has anyone found out anymore tricks with these mas's?

I have a fully hacked 1G MAF and I get no drop in counts. I cross the line at 107 mph.
I have no idea if he has this but you can have a turbo inlet pipe like the Dejon one that has an extra inlet with a filter at the end to let even more unmetered air past.

Has anyone track tested the dejon intake...I have his inlet pipe the small version where you cut your stock rubber hose and just use the 2.5" one he supply's. But the unmetered air portion he is selling now does seem intriging and wonder what kinda mph people are seeing. Ive run 115.5 on a fully hacked 1g mas which I did myself with a dremel tool. Im gonna hacked some more out of it today to get that tad more of air in and leave the hoses off the back of the mas and plug those lines too see what happens. Just check out your afc hz reading...good way to tell if its dropping counts is to check to see if the graph is linear and isnt all jumpy like a richter scale during an earthquake. I didnt think I was dropping counts until I looked at it. Later
