So the roommate is moving out end of the month.
What that means- I get two spots in the garage :) YAY.. My Black cherry (or BC2) will get to go in and undergo operation.

About the car:
Picked it up with a "steering problem" which was only bad tires.

So the motor is coming out and gone over to ensure no future problems :)

So the BC2 will be your fast car? And the Silver car will remain the 12 second EvoIII powered Daily driver?

I don't see Dsmlink on your mod list, explain asap! ;) Also, why HKS and not BC 272's, you could easily save yourself $300 instead.

If you are going to throw in new cams, you might as well replace all of the timing accessories and throw in a new HG and ARP's for safety.

Also, consider doing some of the 'wire tucking' shown in the other thread + an emissions/CC removal, it will really clean up the engine bay!

Yes, the silver gsx will be the same. The silver talon is going to be the fastest. And if I ever find the silver Laser, that will be the monster :D

I'm running Ostrich. And I found HKS new at a good price. Right above "What it has now" I wrote I'm going through the motor. That comes first above all!

Oh don't worry about it getting cleaned up :) I've already started a bit on cleaning up the motor, but it's a little pointless right now, when it's all coming out.

Unfortunately, I'm going back to school, so money won't be coming in (so I'm getting all the stuff for it to run before then) and it'll be ugly til I can afford some paint.

But my goal for right now is just for it to run by spring :)

Very nice. First time I've seen that car. Sound like you have some good plans. The HKS cams did not do so well in a recent cam shoot out against some of the newer offerings like the FP, BC and GSC.

That's interesting about the HKS cams. I had came across a good deal, but it fell through, so I'm debating between FP and BC.

A bit?? LOL.. Yuh it's def rough! The exterior is awful looking :( Hopefully in the next year it'll be show worthy.
I'd like to get the spoiler wrapped with carbon fiber.. get either a CF smaller mirror or just wrap the stock one.. CF hood and headlight covers.
Of course, get a paint job.. Debating on either painting the whole car black cherry or keeping the silver bottom..

I'm just torn between keeping silver bottoms (esp since they don't make the snowflake stickers anymore).. but it looks so good with the silver wheels
.. or paint it all black cherry with bronze wheels.

Also, been thinking of doing the wing wrapped in carbon fiber. Not sure if it would look weird having the shine look of the CF between the black cherry paint and gloss black roof..
Maybe someone can photoshop the wing/ headlight covers and hood carbon fiber for me :D:cool:

Don't those work just as well as evo brembo calipers? Something that'll make it even more better is using the 2g 3000gt vr4 master/booster.

I would've had the car painted before putting the motor in... Could've gotten the bay painted too then.

I think im going to go get one of those clear cam gear covers, I dont run one now, but thats pretty good looking and you can still see your timing belt.
Were'd you get yours from/ how much?


Also, i think you should clean up that engine bay a bit more, like pull off that crappy padding on the fire wall, and drop the main engine harness down out of sight and etc. You couldve really done some stuff to that engine bay when the engine was still out.

I've done most all of the work aside from wiring, cutting metal and fabbing up stuff.. My husband did all that stuff :)
My original plan was the bronze rims, but now I've decided I'm going to keep the silver bottom and silver rims. After picking up the 5zigens I think it's going to stay as is.

Cutting the dump tube and welding it on. I don't like where the dump is, so I'm going to make it longer and have it shoot out more to the left. Right now it's going to be in the way of the IC piping.

My silver car's finally running decent again, so I'll most likely be out for Import summer jam with it, try and maybe set some better numbers.
But I'm hoping mid-end June for it to run.

Finally got a bit more done :)

Piping is done, aside from the open dump. We cut it, welded on a flange for the 38mm, and are waiting on the 1 3/4 pipe to come in (sigh backordered stuff). As soon as that comes, it will get welded on and everything will be going off to be powdercoated!

Got the FPR all hooked up and new lines on the fuel pump. Also waiting for my Fuel Lab inline fuel pump to come in the mail...

Lol... It's nice having time to work on it. It's just a lot of little things now. Just have to wait til tomorrow to get my hoses, pick up the radiator hoses, get the battery in and it should hopefully fire!!!
Then it's on to working on getting the brakes on, rear suspension, 4bolt and cat delete on the exhaust and YAY!!!!!!!!!! :D

Lol.. I can't put this car up on the June contest though, doesn't run. Maybe I'll throw the silver car up again :)

I'm really hoping by this weekend it'll fire. All that's left in the engine bay is make a mounting bracket for the oil cooler, get the radiator in there and finish wiring up the battery :)

So today took out the trailing arms today and ground them down a bit more for the 255 wides, and welded them to fix the tow problem. Got the 4 bolt in and the rear end all buttoned up.

I did some misc improvements as well. I'm sure no one cares or at least as much as me, but I'm happy :)

I got the stupid bumper sticker off.. That thing was gnarly bad, I spent 2 hours with it.

I actually got to drive it around the block last night. Tonight didn't feel up to working on it, so I painted.. lol. But I just have the fuel pump to rip out (from the bottom :(), fix up the exhaust and do the gauges and yuh..

I'd so love to do some paint on the car, but really omg, so broke! I'm no longer working because of school, so yuh, it'll be an ugly beast on the outside.. lol. Other then that, the body's really straight. Just the wing was cracked, but I replaced that.

Yuh, I just freshened up the bottom end. The head is ported with Crower springs and retainers.

Braking is improved but mainly the heat dissipation.
13 inch rotors and it's basically the Baer track brakes

Tearing apart the tranny was surprisingly easy! Too bad most everything was junk. Sliders had rounded off the gears, center dif blown. So looking at some big money to fix that.

You can find the TB on ebay for a good price ;)

Ahh, I didn't know if you were doing any cleaning. I pulled my fan/ac/heater to wash all of that out. I also removed the black rubber/foam thing because I had some mice in the car when I first bought it :(

P.S. Ronnie, all my stuff is back under the dash, the firewall has been covered in Fat Mat. Heat is awsome in these winter months. I'm looking forward to A/C too ;)

When we got it I had to crawl through the hatch (since it was on the trailer and the doors couldn't get open) to work the Ebrake lol. The door bars make it so hard to get out, esp me being so short.. lol.
Going to end up getting the swing out kits for it.
