View Full Version : First kill in the new car awd talon vs new 2008 mustang gt

Well ill start off with mods for me
brand new 6 bolt swap just rebuilt has 2000 miles on it, 20g, tail 38mm w.g, evo fmic, greddy type s bov, 650 injectors, safc2, 255 fp, turbo smart mbc, crower 272 cams, auto meter wideband, 3" turbo back exhaust, stage 3 clutch, 3 gallons of cam 2, pushing 20 psi and on nitto 455 tires mounted to rx-7 rims.
So today i was out cruising bc it was so nice doing a lil tune to the car and got it running pretty good. When i look in the rear view i see a mustang coming up pretty quick so i was like this will be a good test to see how the car is running. So with no traffic in front of us we come up to a light and i look over guy has non functional hood scoop side window scoops and his brand new sticker tag in the window and chrome rims. He looks over at me and i guess caught me looking at the car kinda revs so i shook my head as to say lets go. So i bring the rpms up to 6k and wait for the light when light turns green im out the hole like a bat outta hell hit 2nd perfect look back he is 3-4 car take 2nd out to third and was 5-6 cars ahead let off hoping to give the guy a thumbs up. I guess he wasn't happy that his mustang that he had just got and paid way to much for just lost to a import. He never did come back beside me and i finally turned off onto my street.
Over all i was happy with the car and plan on turning boost up to 27 psi soon as i can get it tuned a lil finer

Great kill and great list of mods. I bet he thought he was the s*** with his brand new gt, but glad to see that you put him in his place. I've never raced the new ones, but I've beaten a few of the older gt's. Have you had it dynoed yet.

Quick question...do you plan on getting Link before turning it up to 27 psi, cause if I am right, which I very well could be wrong, wouldn't you need bigger injectors + something to tune it correctly?

One more thing, use proper punctuation, it is stressed on this board by many of the mod's, and makes it easier for everyone else.

No i havent had a chance to dyno the car yet i have only had it back on road for a lil over a week.
No plans of link im gonna go as far as i can go on the safc2 i have plenty of injector left right now at 20 psi im still taking away a huge amount of fuel i think at full boost its like-29%

Pretty big difference at 27 psi though...

GT owners always make me smile. you pay 20,000+ dollars and you still get beat by a 6,000 dollar or less car.

I have a grand total of 3400 including car price for what I have done to it and I have done every mod on the car

LOL? Comparing apples to oranges my friend. Those darn Evos must get pissed when they get beat by some trashed up Fox body with some cheapo GT40 heads and a 150 shot(sure it'll probably blow up but they're disposable anyway). 35k vs. 2500. Can't compare a used car with a new car I'm tired of seeing this.

Well to the OP nice kill. With your mods it's kind of overkill to race a stock GT their more for guys with 16Gs and such lol.

Agreed^ I know that DSM's aren't too bad, but still, they aren't the only cars that are quick and cheap.

When you spank a GT500, let me know. You should be able to kill a GT no problem almost in stock form.
