A customer of ours is amping up for a big race season at the drap strip and came to us for the hard parts required to run 8s and to do it in style  He'll be finishing the build with fuel, electronics and tuning and will be unleashing his beast when spring breaks here in the NW
The goal of this build was to assemble an 8-second capable setup that would meet the decibel requirements to run after 10PM at our local track. He also wanted show quality finish on everything. Never backing down from a challenge, here are our results!

Not bad...
Why is the Tial Bov have like its own pipe???It looks a little goofy...
Also Im not a fan of the Turbo manifold or Intercooler...
Intercooler is way overkill...
But the customer is always right

The pictures in that link are the only ones we took during the build. It's been super hectic in both the shop and office here for quite some time but we're doing our best to share in the fun :D We will be offering the upper radiator hose kits for $89 plus shipping to those interested.

The Tial BOV flange/pipe was designed for function over form. It puts the inlet of the valve directly perpendicular to airflow direction. Rather than making a 90 degree turn into the BOV, airflow can take a straight shot in this case. The intercooler is actually sized specifically for this Tial housing 4202 turbocharger such that it will efficiently cool the charge while maintaining absolute minimum pressure drop at 1000whp. The manifold was built for lowest possible head to runner angle while maintaining true equal length runners, merge collector turbine inlet and hood clearance :)

Are you meaning the radiator hose clamps? Those are standard Breeze hose clamps and there are four in total. Let me know if that's not what you meant :)

Not to jack this thread...but I've noticed your posts are very similar throughout DSM Talk.
Try to post following rule #7. The mods are very strict about that and you'll find your stay short lived if you don't. Just a pre-warning before a mod mentions it to you.

The full update from the car's owner, Jeff {thumbup}
Ok everyone I'm the owner of the car and I got to say thanks for the atta boys on the build. This project is one of three I've done, My first is a full show quality street car making 511 wheel on a FP Red turbo with only 21 psi, My second is a '91 GSX 2.0 ltr FP 3065 that runs on E-98 and is a street and strip car that has run 10.2 @ 133 mph making 533 whp. This car that I'm building now is a 2.0 ltr English built E98 full drag car. Our starting goals are minimal at around mid/low 9's, then going faster as I feel the need. We know the the car is capable of 8's and 1000 whp but for now I'm starting around 900 whp. Here's some pics for you guys who don't like the condition of the surrounding of the ETS BLING.

As far as having ETS take care of my dreams of this build, There is NO doubt in my mind that anyone could have matched their professionalism and ability to meet every goal I placed in front of them. Thank you ETS. Jeff

I think it was built with the intent of going 8 seconds. But id have to agree it can't be an 8 second car till it crosses the line. I'd say it has the potential though.

All i can say is HOLY SHIT! The car looks amazing. Do you have any more pics? Maybe some of the interior? How'ed you get it down to 2165lbs thats insane, i see it dosent have a hood or windsheild yet, but still. I have my 1g down to about 2500lbs but thats with out the 10pt cage. I really like how you arent running any sideskirts, and filled the holes. Looks really clean and unique and not to mention lighter.
Good job keep up the good work.

You may have seen him out in his part green part black 1G on slicks that runs low 10s at almost 140mph :) I just talked to him a little bit ago and with his new house is still waiting on internet to be installed, so we'll try to get over to English Racing where it's being finished and get some pictures!

Thanks for all the props everyone, this car has become quite the adventure. The car is almost finished and English is tellin me we'll be barking it off this next week for the first time. I have to apologize for the lack of updated pics but like Tom said I'm busy with building my new house and I live over 100 miles away, so getting to it has been a challenge. I really want to thank the people who have helped me build this car: ETS for building me the siqest custom turbo build ever. English racing for building me the short block, trans and wiring the car, JmFab for helping on the intake mani ( thanks Jim). The car was a real basket case when I got the stripped shell, I had actually thought I had taken too much on. If you guys want I could post a full build from start to now so you can see how much work has been done. I'm looking forward to getting in this car and making great #'s once I get used to this new power level. We are really anxious to see the abilities of E-98 straight. I will reweigh the car with out me in it I'm predicting 2300 lbs full rolling chassis on my corner scales. Jeff

So the car started out as a '93 eclipse GSX. I purchased the totally stripped shell from English Racing. It had a home built one piece carbon fiber front clip. The clip was very poorly built and didn't fit very well at all.
http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee124/eclipsed4speed/1000whpbuild93gsx004.jpg
So I decided to find a doner car and cut the front clip off and re graph it back to the new car.

http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee124/eclipsed4speed/1000whpbuild93gsx025Small.jpg
So I took the car to ETS and spend a short period of time with JR the owner to let him know what I wanted for a build. After our very detailed conversation was over you could see JR was very excited to tackle this project. Here's the rules, GT4202r turbo must fit in stock location with stock radiator. 6" FMIC must fit behind stock front bumper cover. Full 4" turbo back exhaust and waste gate to vent into DP. Polish everything like for a car show.

Of course the cars not finished and needing fluids. With English our goals are hitting 900-1000 whp on straight E-98 and running low 9's. We built it for more but I'm more of a realist and let the time slips come when they come. we can start updating with more after this week cuz the car is just about wrapped up. More to come. Jeff

It will be ready to fire very soon Brent, we just have to finish a few more things. Have you shown Jim the pics, Whats he think so far? Do you guys have polished COP that works with 300m coils, The one Spark Tech sent me is, well lets say not up to the finish this car needs.
Thanks for the props Chim, When you get a chance go up to Lukes' and see it for yourself, The pictures just don't do it justice.
Yes that is the stock tank I cut just outside the fuel tray inside, then drilling 3 1.5in. holes just below the inspection cover where the -10 return line comes in. The fuel pump is a Magna Fuel 750, feeding -10 to a Y and 2 -8 to the Magnus twin rails with 8 1600 injs, 2 -8 to the Aeromotive fpr and last -10 return. Pretty sick fuel system I think.
Thanks every one, I very excited to start ripping on this car, my other low 10 sec e98 car is starting to bore me, and it keeps getting me into trouble for my mph traps over 135. It's no fun having to let out 200 ft from the line coasting and loosing but running 10.4 @ 109 mph. I could finish the cage but English thinks I should focus on the new car. When I get my status up with this site I will do features on my 550 plus hp e98 2g and 1g. Jeff

It will be ready to fire very soon Brent, we just have to finish a few more things. Have you shown Jim the pics, Whats he think so far? Do you guys have polished COP that works with 300m coils, The one Spark Tech sent me is, well lets say not up to the finish this car needs.
I have been showing them to Jim off and on. I'll have to show him the latest come Monday then. We definitely have a plate that'll work with the 300m coils--I'll see what we can do. ;)

Jeff
Yeah I gotta get up to ER and check everything out.
