Welcome to my ’08 build thread.

I currently have two ’95 GSX’s. One is a white GSX and it was my first DSM. The other is a red GSX. I did minor mods. to the white GSX the first year until my engine and I decided to go take a WALK together. I then did some research and found that putting the 6-bolt in it was the best route to go. I did some more research and found a fellow DSMer in Minnesota that had built some motors, so I decided to go with him for the 6-bolt build. The reason for not doing the work my self was lack of garage, and time (Full time student/ full time Pizza Hut delivery driver). After myself, and another dsmtalk member decided to go with EclipseRST (vogelperformance.com) he decided to spend our money elsewhere. Long story short I am out $3,600 until court time.
One year later, I started saving money again and bought a locally built short block with Wiseco 8.5:1 forged pistons, Eagle H-Beam rods, Mitsubishi uncut crank, ARP head studs, and removed balanced shafts. While looking at the short block at the seller’s house I asked to see his GSX for sale. It had just recently had a 12 point roll cage installed. The exterior was immaculate, as well as the exterior. He was selling it for $1000, so I figured it was to good of a buy to pass up.

Now at the present time I have my white GSX at my friend Keith’s( Plum ’97 GST) house ready for disassembly. I owe a couple more hundred dollars on the red GSX and should be picking it up May 12th.

Going to paint cage exterior color to match, but whole front half will have black silicone padding.

Today I pay off the rest of the red GSX, so its going to be a long day!

I'll take some pictures tonight of the progress.

What kind of wheels are those black ones? Look like mine blacked out. And whats the dealio with the double wing?

Those wheels are "Drag 10's", I believe thats the name of them. They were silver with a polished lip originally. just sanded them down and put some paint and clear on them. They are really hard to keep clean though.

The double spoiler was on the car when I bought it. The bolts that hold the spoiler on are rusted in so I never really got to it. It doesn't matter now because the red GSX has the low rise spoiler.

I'm not really worried about the white car anymore. All my attention now is on the red one.

I think those are the wheels I have. But they are called drag DR-3's. Unless the 10's are a newer model that look exactly the same. Anyways, they look nice, ive been thinking about painting mine someday when they get a little more beat up.

I did all the upholstery myself. It was my first time doing anything like that. It wasn't too hard.

Really? Have you done one with a sunroof? I want to do that and my door inserts. Where did you buy the material?

i am going to do the sunroof headliner. I got the suede at Joann's. Its a fabric and Crafts store.
