My Father owns a small movie company and has a high end digital video camera. He makes small movies and shoots commercials locally. I am sure I can convince him to come out a shoot videos of our cars. I live in So California and he lives in Bakersfield (near where the west coast shoot out was) but could meet a mutally agreed upon spot. I am proposing the following (kinda long):

1. Shooting a VHS video or building a website
2. Featuing different peoples rides in 3 dif. catagories
A. Stock
B. Mild
C. Wild
3. Shoot the engine bays and interiors of each car and
list the mods done to each vehicle through Adobe
Premeire.
4. Have mics set up in the front (engine compartment) and
rear (trunk) to listen to what each engine and type of
exhaust sounds like.
5. Clock 0-60 times with an actual radar gun
6. Clock 1\4 mile times (maybe at a drag strip)
7. Shoot "Like" vehicles running against eachother

So on and so forth... If anyone is interested please reply. If there is enough responce I will get the ball rolling. Production will cost a feww $$$ that I am willing to spend just as long as I know we will have an finished product. Please Reply

This sounds like an awsome idea. only prob is with me i'm in New York. I know there is are others here from Cali who might be interested. if you did set up a website, i would more then be happy to make my own vids or pics here in NY and send them to you (so you can post them up on the site). lets see if we get anymore repsonses. i'm buying a video cam reall soon myself. i was planning on taping some other fellow
DSMers here in New York (doing burnouts, or just crusing by)and posting them on my site or on any other DSM site=). anywayz lets see the response.

though i can't speak on behalf of all tthe sandiegans, im sure most of us would be interested. I am.

But we aren't real close to you, are we?

would this cost the rest of us anything?

If you want to come to carlsbad one weekend that would be rad. Maybe i could get some guys to go up to one of the strips around LA, too.

Sounds like it would be a fun time. Is this gonna be some kind of documentary on dsms, or is it "just for the hell of it"

I'm thinking more kind of a documentary like... You ever seen those Japanese videos of the skyline vs. supra or a WRX vs. sylvia. That Type! I want to have comparisons on each car and list their mods and see the car in action not only from the outside but from inside the car as well. Maybe have a running stop watch on the screen as well as what gear they ar e in to get a feeling of what kind of speed and force are involved in each gear. The ideas are limitless!

There would be no cost that I know of (at this time). My Dads friend would be the editor so a few $$$ kickback would go to him to cut a splice the movie. We'll see. I need to get my car running and come down to Carlsbad sometime. I could still meet you guys anytime in the near future. Let me know, L8!

Sonds pretty rad. Let us know When your getting ready to do it. And let us know when your cars up and running and maybe we'll meet up sometime at a strip or something.

What all are you doing to your car? What kind of times are you shooting for?
