OFFICIAL: NC/SC DSM Shootout October 4th, 2008

The 2008 NC/SC DSM Shootout will be at Rockingham Dragway, NC on Saturday, October 4th. The track will be open to us from 4-6pm, at which time the TNT will start; there will be 2 lanes reserved for us to continue racing each other from 6-10pm. Cost is $20 for car and driver; $10 for general admission/crew, paid when you get to the track. I have been in contact with track commisioner, John Leviner and confirmed everything with track President, Steve Earwood this morning.

There will be 1st and 2nd place trophies for the 2 fastest cars of the day. There will be no extra cost to you for this.

We will also be meeting for lunch in Rockingham, NC around noon-1pm for lunch and meet/greet. Then we will go to the dragway, so everyone can get setup and ready to race. If you have any questions send me a PM, or e-mail me: boostjunki84@yahoo.com.

If anyone wants to pick me up, I will go. I get my suspension done with on the 4th but the DMV wont be opened and I dont want to risk driving from HKY to the Rock like that. Hickory is around exit 125 off of I-40. I could pay for a tank of gas if someone is willing to pick me up.

Yea. Dee just posted yesterday on tuners that, Filthy(the guy who sings "Dragway DSM") will be coming out, along with many more from SC.

Hell yea. Boost, another guy might want to go. His name is Matt and he just went out today to test drive a 95 TSI AWD and he fell in love with it, so we might have another DSMer going with us or driving there, not sure yet though.

OFFICAIL MEET location CONFIRMED!

We will be meeting at the SUBWAY (as in Sub-sandwich) at 300 E Broad Ave. in Rockingham, NC starting at approx. 12:00-12:30pm. I already let them know we are coming and about how many people will be there. E Braod Ave. is basically 74, and is very close to where 74 and 1 meet, which is located not far from R.D. He said we're all set for tomorrow and that we can even come to the track early, at around 3pm; that way we'll be ready to start at by 4pm. Hope everyone has a safe trip there. See you at the track!

Nice pics, DSMBtch. I should have mine up later this week. I'm working out the issues the Talon was having at the track.

Laser ran good though; 15.2, stock with K&N. Not bad for 190,000 miles, bad rings, pissing oil, and $40 tires.:D

It was rossb from tuners. It's speculated that the oil pump locked up, snapping the belt in the process. He was about mid-track when it happend. Still now word yet; he did get it towed up to the shop though.

Just a quick update about the trophies; they should be in sometime today. I'll post some pics when I get them.;)

Sorry it took forever but my heatpump at my house went out. It cost 4k to get a new one put in.:(
