Damn Casey! I heard you blew your shit. I was wondering when you were gonna step up to aluminum pro rods.;) I thought you parted the car out. And from what little I have read on SLCSR.com I thought you were getting out of the game.

BTW A1's will not fail you

I would have just bought Jake's Bottom end. Then again aren't you using 9.1-1 pistons. Think he's using 8.5-1.

I have had bad experiences with buying old motors, to me thats a big no no.

I like to start out fresh.:) Also I went with some 1400hd's 9:1:ohnoes:

Some more parts showed up today! WOOT WOOT!

I couldn't decide wheather or not my -8 feed line or my A1000 pump was to small for the amount of fuel my car was demanding. So I went ahead and picked up 20 feet of -10 line and several hose ends from my buddy Parker, he gave me a killer deal on all of it for $80 bux!:)

Also another package of wonderful shiny things showed up. Including cometic headgasket, fuelab fpr, aem5bar, crower cam gears, BC 280 cams, and a hks timing belt! Sweet! I wish my pistons and valves would show up so I could get my stuff back from the machine shop. The pictures are not to amaizing but enjoy!

a1000, I didn't see you mention what fuel pump you were going to, just that you were going from 8 -an to 10 -an, which is what I have. 10 -an from the cell to the fpr, with a lower micron pre pump filter, and a higher micron pre rail filter. Are you going to run dual 044's now?

how much power/what times did you put down with the a1000? what size/how many injectors were you running? did you notice it letting up up top or did it hold? What was your base fuel pressure and how much boost were you running?

I'm fairly confident the a1000 will be fine for me, but its better to be sure than rebuild your motor that went lean at 35+ psi.

I cant give you an exact amount of power, the car never went on the dyno this season. But I will assure you that it was making over 700 on e85 because last season I made 702 not even trying on the dyno and the car trapped 10.95@134mph, and this season I went 10.14@ 143mph.

As for injectors this season on base pressure 43psi e85 1600s with 99%idc @ 39psi  And it was leaning out with rpm above 8500rpm to 9600rpm on the 4202 but with the 4294 I did not see that problem.

My bad. I should know. He He :o. Those two bosch 044's will be nice. Just out of curiosity were you using 100% E-85 or a mixture. Alot of guys are getting better results out of using less concentrate and more 91. Why not use 91 then water/meth inject when it runs out?

Yea maybe you should look into two 1600's per cylinder...?

Just e85. I am doing 680s as primaries so the car "drives" well and 1600s as secondaries.

-A. SwiftIve never understood why people say that a GT42 isnt streetable. Why do u think they are that much different then the t67 ot 70mm? I drove mine last night to let a few of the ricers see what a real car looked like. Going up hills in 5th gear at 2k and it starts to boost. Only difference in this and smaller is that its mostly a 4th gear car unless your above 2500 in 4th. Then i switch to 5th. But if i go the speed limit (most are 45 around here). Im in 4th. On a 55mph speed limit im in 5th. Both at around 2400rpms in my FWD.

So I forgot to tell you guys what my buddy Jesten Thompsons civic si made on the dyno on sunday.

I know I know alot of people on here are civic haters but this is the car that started it all for me. So on to the story..... we head up there to just do a base tune on the car so he can drive it around on e85 till the snow falls, he was expecting maybe 500ish on e85. Long story short he made 830 wheel on pump e85 at 34psi with moderate timing! We ended up stopping there but that bitch has so much more in it. But the sad part is my camera freaked out on me and I only have footage and pixs of the 788 pull, I know you will still enjoy it.

I thought the peice went below the main caps, not above them. It would make more structural sense to have it down there in certain senses, but I guess since the top of the bolts will be able to move the farthest due to torque it also makes sense to lay them up top as well. Looks like all thats needed is possibly some new hardware.

And up on top of the tank there is the -8 return, what is the -10 meant for with the fitting you provided?

That you'll use to connect the large vent hose that goes up to the fill hole on the side of the car. If you cut it off while dropping the stock tank, I believe it's a 5/8" id hose you'll need, probably about 1 1/2 feet of.

Come to find out Carrillo pro-A beam rods are only good for 80hp per cylinder.
It was the rod that failed not the bolt.

You use one of these on the rod bolts or just go by torque specs?
http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h209/91TSiGuy/Talon/tools/100_2508.jpg

Also, how much clearance does the main girdle give you with those rods? I'm just curious if it was built around steelies or aluminum ones too. Doesn't look like you needed to do any grinding on there.

Apparently a few of them have failed. The rod stretches the bolt every time you warm it up. I was thinking... Groden probably just has you torque them down to the least amount possible. That way the rod would get bigger and the bolts get tighter. Do they use L19 rod bolts or standard ARP's? Do you know the torque spec for them?

I wouldnt count this as a catch can it is more there to relieve crank case pressure there is also a drain on the bottom of the can going back into the block because I no longer have a baffle in the valve cover.

Are you still planing on street driving the car? Can you drive your cars in the US with a front mount exhaust like that? I know in Canada the exhaust must exit behind the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

I heard that NHRA changed the rule that all exhaust must exit behind front wheels?

I'm surprised that all organizations do not require a turn down on all side exhausts. In truck pulling it must turn down do to flying objects flying into the crowd. I know I'd hate to be the one staging cars and have part of a turbo or any other part come out the exhaust and hit me.

delicious..I wish they made those tires for a 16" wheel, in that tread design. NOT the older type..I hear this design is better for all around performance.

Installed the drivers side seatbelt on this warm saturday we were blessed with. Also I changed my mind on the tire situation and had another pair of nitto neogens put on the front. Still waiting on the new injectors, should be here monday.
Tried to take some decent pics of the car while it was out of the garage, let me know what you think :)
