modded car > stock car.

Add to that 420a's have higher compression than a turbo motor, AND the 420a is running a GT28, it comes as no surprise.

Apples to oranges.

Still cheaper and still quicker than the TSI is. Every 420a car I have bought has been under 1000 dollars and for under 3k total with purchase of car you can run alot more than 8 psi.

Oem crank is forged all we need is pistons and rods thats 500 bucks and turbo setup can be made less than 1500 easy with a megasquirt unit and fuel pump and injectors and jeep TB. for 3k you can have a 400whp 420a including the price of the car.

You had a cool streak for awhile, and now I see your back to being a dick.

Oh well, good things never last.

Lol I never care what anybody thinks thats why I built a stroked 2.2 420a. Because it is different and when someone sees my car they go oh its just a rs and tryed to do a ricer flyby and gets reeled in and their doors blown off. I had a 4g63 powered car and yes I did like it but I got fustrated when It walked on motor 1, walked on motor 2. So I sold it and the price I sold it I ended up buying 3 Rs's.

I've picked up turbo dsms for less than 1k many times. By the same right I could have gotten injectors exhaust cams megasquirt fmic clutch and a 35r and had over 600hp without having to take the head or pan off plus I would have awd.

Just because you can make a car fast cheaply doesn't mean it will last. Your also forgetting parts like a clutch and sticky tires lsd bigger radiator ect. That you need for a stock nt car to beat even a lightly modded stock turbo car. You are also forgoing a lot of labor time and knowledge involed in building a forged bottom end that most dsmers never have to worry about.

Dollar for dollar a stock turbo car will outperform a converted nt car. Nothing wrong with driving or building a 420a but saying its faster for less money is straight out wrong.

But we are not talking 1g either, Strictly 2g's since that is the only eclipse with the 420a. If you compare the 1g you might as well compare 240sx's, supras, mr2's, and everything inbetween. You dont see GSX 2g's under 1k with motors in them not in Illinois anyway and if you do the body is in horrible shape. Around here a GST sells for 5-6k.

Cheaper?

Make a boost controller = 15 bucks?
Unbolt the downpipe = free
Boost gauge = 25 bucks
walbro fp = 100 bucks

13's.

But the turbo model also costs more than the non turbo model for 2gs. So if you take the price in the middle by the time you come to the same price yes the 420a would be faster.

It all depends on the car. Ive seen 2g gs-t's that run sell for 2k, and a 1999 rs thats 8k.

I guess it all depends where you are at. Turbo dsm's are rare to come by in central Illinois unless you goto Chicago and they still are spendy. I cant find a gst under 6k in central IL but I can find RS and GS's 97-99 under 1000 dollars all day long. And by the time I bought a 1k dollar RS or GS and put 5k in it I have a stroked 2.2 motor gt35R turbo MS2 full fuel support and everything and a IPT tranny.

Yeah, around here cars go for dirt cheap, especially if they cant pass smog.

2g GSX's here run 7-8k Chicago every once in awhile I will see one for 5-6k. The cheapest cars in my area are non turbo 1g's and non turbo 2g's. 240sx's and hondas, and 5.0 mustangs. My friend bought a 94 5.0 mustang and with a bolt on turbo kit ran a 10.4 at 136mph.

I've never seen a running 2g nt for 1k either. My gfs car is a 97 gsx. We traded a 91 awd talon that we got for 200 with a bad head plus 700 cash. I paid got the replacement head for free from a friend. 900 for a 2gb gsx that ran and drove, just had some electrical gremlins.
Its who you know as far as getting cars cheap.

Here we go again.

I'm glad I finally got a 4G63 and sold my 420a-t. I'm sick of being affiliated with cocky 420a owners.

BTW, I know that guy and he had plenty of research with tuning it. It's not your basic FMU+Pump setup.
