For the longest time I was a strong believer of the hacked 1g mas. Until today when I broke down and installed a 2g mas on my 1g awd. All I can say is what a difference....timing curve rocks...no knock at the same psi as before with the hacked 1g mas. Car is much smoother..idle is better. The knock was caused by it dropping counts.... How? I dont know all I know it runs exteremely better than before. Im gonna run it on pump gas t-morow weather permitting and see how it does. For all of you thinking about gettin a 2g mas...do it...its well worth it. I was blind to the fact for a long time. Later

Are you flowing your MAS with any honeycombs removed? I just got one off the trader to put in my 1G with suprisingly the sides and lower removed. On a 2G it's my understanding that change in weather conditions require very frequent adjusting of the AFC. Since there are no honeycombs to be found I was able to use a grinder and trim the lower 1G honeycomb and fit it in the lower section of the 2G MAS.

I've got a set of ND 550 injectors I intend to install along with a new AFC. To play it safe my settings will be on the rich side.

A smooth idle is on my wish list, we'll see. :)Glad to hear yours smoothed things out.

What did you use for an intake snorkle?

Allen? What's up!!! I didn't recognize you at first. I'll e-mail you off line. Been some changes since I've seen you last.

My idle has definitely gotten better bill. I have 660's now Im at about -12 at idle with them. Although I wa sout tuning tonight and ran into some knock at about 5800 rpm's in 3rd but that is tunable I think,a lthough I am probably pushing it and asking for too much with 21psi and crappy alaskan 92 octane.
Although I did run into slight idle problem when coming to a stop or pressing the clutch pedal in when coasting the car just wants to die for some reason and most of the times..., but if you slowly bring the rpms's down it has no problems. Didnt have a problem on the 1g mas with this, dunno what is the remedy for this one.
Far as the honeycombs...Ive got all of them in, I plan on taking out the botton one first. Im still learning the mas and how it works compared to a 1g, so Im sure it will get better.
For intake tubing I used a fernco 3" to 2" reducer/collector and ran it straight into my 1g dejon lower intake pipe. I also made an adapter plate so I can use my 1g KN filter instead of buying a kn fipk kit or some other high dollar one. But one of my buddys has a spare hks adpater Im just gonna swap mine out when I get time.
Drop me an email or give me a call 753-3432 long time no see and get in touch.

ive found this to be true. i know my car is practically stock compared to WGTalons, but my idle has a big variance in the day compared to the night.
