Care and feeding of your new powder coated parts:

Before you install your new powder coated part there is some prep that needs to be done. If the part is a part that is internal to the motor, or touches the oil, cooling, or intake system, (intercooler piping, intakes, valve covers, oil pans ect) it should be cleaned out. Even though I have already washed out the part once after the powder coating process, it needs to be washed again to remove any left over sand blasting abrasive from the part IE inside the oil baffles in the valve cover.
It is simple to clean your part, all you need to do is wash it out with hot water. The bath tub works fine for this. Get the water nice and hot and go to town cleaning it out. After this the part will be ready to install.

In cleaning your new powder coated part, you should treat It as painted part. If you wouldn’t clean a painted part with it, do not clean your powder coated part with it.

Items not to use for cleaning your powder coated parts:

1.Brake Cleaner
2.Full Strength purple power "Any full strength degreasers".
3Concrete cleaner
4.Mag wheel cleaner (type for aluminum )
5.Acetone
6.Carb Cleaner
7.marine clean
8.polishing compounds ( unless clear coated)

To clean a powder coated surface use the same care and methods you would use to clean your car. Gently wash with a clean soft cloth and a mild detergent, followed by a clear water rinse. If you are cleaning wheels use a wheel cleaner that is safe for use on painted wheels. If you are unsure about using a product for cleaning on your powder coated part, dilute it and test it in an small hidden area.

Parts that have the finished ruined by using the wrong cleaner will not be warranted.

Super mirror and gloss color can be waxed, but any textured finish should not be waxed.

While most powder coat finishes are tougher and much more flexible than conventional solvent based paints, they are approximately the same hardness as automotive paint - so they will scratch.
