Well guys here is the scoop, today I picked up a 1998 Eagle Talon TSi with 109k on the chassis, I bought it as a shell with the tranny, axels, ecu, T-case, starter and all the motor/tranny mounts and also a short shifter for $900. Here are the pics I will be assembling everything over this winter so I will keep you all updated. The shell also came with KYB AGX shocks witha 1.5" drop and a camber correction kit. Interior is gutted but the exterior is beautiful.
Here are the pics when it was on the bed, more on the way tonight.

Well I wired up 2 of 3 gauges today one of which is the BS A/F gauge, the other is an oil pressure gauge and the third will be my AEM, also installed the B&M short shifter. Tomorrow I will be installing the interior paneling for the rear quarter panels and around the corner windows along with the whole trunk and hopefully the carpet but I think I'll do that last. lol.
BTW: Please do not mind the gauge cluster, it came like that.
Ps: that is my Daily in the last pic lol.

I like the iron bars and tall locked fences, you must have some friendly neighbors.
Good luck with the black 2gb talon, I picked mine up in a similar fashion.

Well some more progress, I got most of the interior pieces, I installed the following:
-Complete trunk paneling incl wood floor, trunk carpet, and the plastic floor support for the wood thing.
-Complete Hatch paneling including the hook things for the hatch lid.
-DSMLINK V2 ECU from my old car
-re-adjusted the B&M short shifter
-installed center console + kick panels
-installed carpet
-remounted front bumper
Next step on sunday will be the headliner, visors, rear quarter panel plastic panels, and the plastic panels around the corner glass, and also the handle thing on the passenger side on the a pillar :)
Here are some pics of the progress, and I swear to you all that after I was done I felt 30x better about getting the car, looks much more presentable and less crappy lol. God bless OEM shit :)
Ps. Don't mind the dirty carpets I basically got all this shit for free lol.

Well, new update people my wife and I were working on the interior of the car along with the exhaust in 28 degree weather like 2 idiots. Well basically interior is ALMOST completed all I need is that passenger side handle thing on the a-pillar and the rear seat panels. But thats on the way, picked up the 3" Turbo back exhaust last night from the previous owner Jayycobb for $225 with a whole bunch of other stuff (his garbage=my gold(lol)). Well everything is on, only thing left now is the motor.

Yea, the whole body is factory. I too was a little disapointed with the front bumper, but as soon as I put the intercooler in it shall fill the gap.
Looking good! One correction though. The 97-98 Talons never came with any side skirts from the factory. The skirts only came stock for the 95-96 versions. The original owner put those on. Yes they are factory skirts but not original on the 98 Talons.
Get a new factory front bumper and you will have a jewel. IMO if you just put an intercooler, it will still look nasty with the hacked front bumper.
This is how my front bumper looks with factory fogs and FMIC

Yep, I already found a nice black 98 talon front bumper, I already picked it up and will mount it as soon as the car is done :).
And yea that is how a project should be done, properly but cheap, so far on all the parts I purchased including motor, complete interior, and exhaust and also some misc sensors and plugs 675$

Well last night was a great night. 5 hours of work on the motor and it is FINALLY complete. Changed the head gassket, replaced the intake manifold gasket, TB gasket, TB elbow gasket, fuel injector O-rings/fuelrail spacers, Exhaust manifold gasket Oil bracket gasket, and also oil filter, timing belt, replalced the motor mount bracket on driver side with a 2g, balance shaft belt, rear main seal and housing, also dropped in my NGKBPR6ES and my NJK 10MM spark plug wires. Today I'm expecting a shit load of stuff for the tranny ie: clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, slave cylinder and a bunch of seals and stuff for the tranny.
Oh also I did the battery relocation to the trunk, routed the power wire from the front to the rear, and grounded the rear to the floor, came out real nice.
Here are some Pics of the finished motor.
