: Crower internals??

Anyone running the Crower internals? I have the Crower springs and retainers, but lately I've been reading that people say they are junk.

So just curious if anyone has ran them and had good/ bad experiences?
What were you revving/ shifting at? What setup?

I'm using Crower springs, retainers, valves and BC 272 cams, I haven't had any problems so far. I've had the springs and retainers in for over a year, the cams are a few months old. I set the rev limiter to 8k, but usually don't go past 7750. My shift points are usually around 7500 for 1st and second, and 7100-7250 for 3rd and 4th.

My setup is GT3071r/23.5 lbs boost with 93 octane. Along with all supporting mods (780cc/fuel pump/ DSMLink/ etc...)

I haven't had any problems with my internals so far. I'd recommend Crower.

I know there's some people running 9s with them, but other people I read had issues.. So I'm not sure. Also the one guy had a 2.3 running in the 9s, so he probably wasn't shifting very high.

I have them in the black cherry now, and didn't have a problem, but just worried if I continue shifting 8-9k, esp if I go to a more aggressive cam

Yeah, with more aggressive cams you should be alright. I make around 470-480hp and haven't had any problems yet. I know that isn't 9's, but it's a decent amount of power for a DD.

That is what I have in my head, and I have the bc 288's. I haven't fired the motor yet, but Jake ran them in his evo and pushed them up to 9500k rpm with 280 cams a couple of times on the dyno. I would say that they do the job well. Crower is a very reputable brand, so I doubt that they would make a low quality part with the track record that they have.

BTW, Black Cherry is a fairy color and should never be on the skin of a modded dsm. Lol. Jk. :P

I use their Ti retainers on my stock springs/FP2's. I chose 8k as my rev limit and make use of it often.

for what its worth.

your face is a fairy color :P

But we'll see how money goes. If it goes well, I'm giving my current head to Brendan and then use the head with 1mm over valves and build it up

Only 1mm over valves??? Come on, be baller and go for 2mm over :P

maybe I'll do 5 ;)

wow, that is beyond baller, its gangster!! lol.

It's also beyond rule number 7.Lol. I have Crower springs, retainers, and BC 280's. Rev set at 8300 rpm's, 9.0to1 comp. bored .20 over with 99% supporting mods, 50 trim, meth, link, exhaust amni, ect. ect. I have never had a problem with them, and I drive my car hard everyday and will shift between 7800-8300 rpm's when doing pulls. Go for it kitty cat. There is ALWAYS going to be atleast one person to give a bad review or say they have had issues with a product know matter what company it is. Nothing is perfect.

Cool, that's good to hear :)

May have to give it a try

I had them in my old head with BC 280's and took it to 9k a few time and never saw an issue with them.

I have crower springs, retainers etc with HKS 272's and shift at 9k+ every time with no problem.

I'll prolly just run the head this season again then :)

I'm thinking of swapping out the revised lifters for OEM ones tho.
