Very torn here. I been looking at a garrett TD06SL2R 20G with a 10.5 hotside and a TD05HR 16g with a 10.5 hotside. Theres quite a difference in the prices, plus with the TD06 I will need a few extra modifcations, but except for that they are direct bolt on to my Evo8. I guess the price is binding me up and I need some opinions. Is the TD06 worth the extra bucks, or is it over rated and the TD05HR will be enough. I have heard there is very little difference for the price as long as you get one with a 10.5 hotside. I figured the TD06 would go good with the skunk 2 cams, plus I am installing a magnus intake soon. I know for a fact the 20g is as big as I want to go. I been on the highway now and buried the needle and that was enough for me at that speed. I just want the topend pull away power from another vehicle. This is my daily drive and I think a 25g is overkill. Thanks for your input.

What about some kind of 30r, they cost about the same and flow well over 50lbs/min.
Evo 20g only 48 Lbs/min and still costs about a grand. I dunno I'd check EvolutionM.net for some good used deals. I bet you could get an Evo 20g for about 500.

I'd have to agree with Don. I'm sure you'd be much more happier in the short term and long term getting a 30r or better yet an evo red.

Go with an scm61. You can find them in mint condition used for ~$500. And they'll make a nice daily driver. You'd be looking at around 450whp on pump and meth on stock head/block.

You think you need a SCM61 for 450whp? pump and meth? If all you are getting out of them is 450whp you are doing something wrong...
I say 30R. I drive it every day. And it will do 450 pump and meth. And only spoolup maybe 500-600rpm slower than stock.
The problem is truly the 'rest'. The 02, manifold... etc. That's where the money becomes an issue as you will be stuck looking at a kit. I'm a HUGE fan of the 3076R. But I would also consider a RED if I wasn't working with a manifold that would take T3 turbo's.
The green was not a wonderful performer IMO, and I wanted more headroom than it afforded at the time of its inception. Thus the 30R for me. OP, W/E you choose take the 10.5 housing. But stay away from the 2Xg's that aren't a RED IMO. If you don't take the RED. Buy a 30 or HTA 35R.
ALL of which... *cough* spool better than a fucking SCM61. Which also does not bolt to a stock manifold, and requires a full kit purchase, lines, o2, downpipe (possibly) etc... It is an efficient turbo - but it will not spool quickly. At all. Not to mention efficient doesn't really matter when you have meth. 3X psi is not a problem with meth.
