If I have the EGR hooked up to the engine with no block off plate but none of the vaccume lines hooked up would there be any sort of negative effect ? or do I have to get the block off plate ?

Stop bumping your threads after only a few hours.. You need to install a blockoff plate.

Why exactly would you want to leave the EGR in place when blockoffs are less than $10?

The vacuum line renders the EGR useless and it is the same as running a plate. It'd be like tits on a bull. Useless.

It will leak, you need the block off plate.

If the EGR was bad to begin with, yes it will leak.
