Well it happen the infamous reason most builds start around here spun rod bearing. So I pulled the motor dissembled and the crank was pretty scored up so I decided to put my tax return into building the bottom end and some other goodies
The Goodies:
Wiseco 9.0:1 .20 over
Eagle rods
Cut the crank
Arp headstuds
Arp main studs
Oem headgasket
Oem oil pump
B/S eliminator
And a custom made lil 20g turbo thanks to harry99gsx :cool:
Block honed and Bored etc here are the pics now lol :D

Looks good, Ill probably be using my tax return for the same pistons and rods.
Be careful with cut cranks though especially with your power goals...

If I were you, I'd look for a different crank, no need to risk something that important. Doesn't have to be new, just one that doesn't need cut and can be micropolished, etc.

I did some research and double check with the machine shop and the crank should run just like a oem crank.

Sorry man, your info is incorrect. The factory cranks are flash hardened. Meaning they are only hardened to a certain point. Basically when you have them cut, the material left is smooth like new, but it is much softer and people have had them just fall apart. The machine shop probably isn't fluent in DSM-nese and has no clue about this. Most cranks can just be cut and reused. Unfortunately not ours.
Just a heads up, if you are looking for that kind of power, spend a ridiculous amount of dollars and go Eagle crank or look for a good used one. My .002.:D

Just adding my 2 cents like everyone else. :D
His crank is being cut 10 under. Granted I'm not a fluent engine builder, but from my understanding our OEM cranks should be fine with this.
I honestly don't want to start any pissing matches with any of you guys here, but I myself know a handful of guys running OEM cranks on their re-builds with a 10 under cut and so far they have been great. Most of them are right around that 500 whp mark to boot.
In a PERFECT world a replacement such as an Eagle crank, would be ideal............ There is NO dispute about that.
I discussed with the OP about his options and from a financial stand point, This makes the most sense for him. Is it THEE best route, NO, but he understands that.
Hopefully the ending to this build/story is a good one.
ALL constructive critisisem is more the welcome. :)

So I was having problem with this bad vibration ( sorta like a really bad wheel hop ) and could not figure out wat it was. But extremepsi was nice enough to send it to fidanza and get me a replacement flywheel and a good deal on a 4.3 so i ditch the 3.2 . ( Yes I did the break in period).

My tax return is going to my Jack's premium build tranny. Along with my already purchased Competion Clutch 6 puck and some maintenance stuff (fluids, rear and transfer case gaskets, fluids, etc.).

Haha it happens. I've rocked multi colored dsms since I was 18. Always had some part to buy. Now i am 23 and tired of it haha. Mines not coming out of the garage until its one uniform color.

Hey.............. Those headstuds aren't threaded into the block all the way.
Looking at this picture, shows their at different heights.............. Not good.
I'm guessing by now you all ready noticed this since the head is torqued down in your last post........................... Right ???

I am not positive and correct me if I'm wrong but from your long block pic, it looks as if you reused your timing belt. For 500hp and a new engine, I would get a brand new setup, which means all new timing pulleys, new tensioner, new water pump and a new belt.
Also what turbo are you planning on making your 500 with?

I got a brand new timing belt water pump and tensioner. Well for now I bolted back up the evo 3 cause cash is a lil tight after the build. But I will be running soon a 20g with a t3 hotside.

20g !!! NICE.............. A long time favorite of mine.
Is that the one we talked about? TD06H with the custom machined .70 T3 turbine housing? 360 heavy duty thrust bearing. That should make for one hell of a flowing 20g! And reliable too!
Get this thing a base tune and lets start playing with some E85 in that.
I'd like to see this thing boosting around the 27-28 lb. range.
This should make for a nice daily driver for sure.
I do hope you have a game plan for trying to get traction, because that's gonna be a big obstacle in itself................. trying to get the power to the ground.

After swapping all my suspension and brakes ( yes shitty single pistons), headlights, interior , wheels and couple of sensor figure i will wash the car. Since i have to wait to monday for the trans anyways. Dont mind the hangin bumper :P

Well I guess this is where my build thread comes to an end.I have the full 3in echaust done no cat :D .The last two mods are 1000cc injectors and a meth kit.. :D.. So in about a week or two I will post some videos of me at the track running 35 psi wish me luck lol.:P

Glad to see that you were not crazy, well not totally... I have to ask why did you swap single piston calipers onto the car?
Do you plan on running slicks, And needed to clear tiny rims?
And you'll love meth injection, if you haven't used it before, just you wait.

I swap single pistons because it came with no brake setup. planning to stick with 17 with slicks

It's gonna suck when it comes time to slow that thing down.
Better think about swapping over to at least the dual pistons with some good pads and rotors, and some stainless lines.

Well she done . Took her out for a spin that tial bov is fricken louder than anything I have ever heard.. And you were right single pistion calipers on a heavier car this thing wont stop for its life so I placed an order for Baer brake kit :D.. Never done spending money.

Yeah, our single pistons really suck. They can lock up the wheels, but they get fade after about the first hard braking.

Well havent been on here on a while my laptop caught a virus ( i guess to much porn lol) But alot has changed i got the baer brakes and take a look at my fidanza 4.3 they gave me a full refund ... so now I am going with a act 2900 with a six puck sprung..

Well I started to have some issues with my clutch push the pedal down and the car rpm dropping or dying... So I took the trans off and sent the clutch to act to see if there was a problem... They said I have the big C word but I cant find any play in the crank.. I was thinking maybe its just there throw out bearing any input ....:confused:
