This is my first real DSM build so please bare with me, i have been a lurker through the forum getting my research on, if you will, and i've finally decided to post my build.

Sorry for the crudity of the pictures, new ones coming soon...

Mind you its a beautiful primer gray color, i'm currently searching for a reputable paint shop here in Tulsa, OK so once i've got the car running well and i get the materials and most of all the money, i'll be posting pictures of the car painted and possibly some dyno run videos aswell.

Update!!

I finally figured out what was wrong with the car, the previous owner did the timing belt change and did not set the timing correctly so it appeard to us as if the car had jumped timing due only to the fact that the previous owner never told us he tried to time it himself. Along with that problem, the coil was also needing a replacement, the stock MAF was junk, the plugs where junk, the plug wires where junk, and the relays need replacing aswell. I had my work cut out for me, so since i was a little hard pressed for time i had my good friends at Humble Performance help me out with the timing issue. My roommate and i replaced the the plugs, wires, and coil, but since the MAF was still messed up, we decided to do a small test. We hooked up the MAF-T and GM MAS in a "suck-through" configuration, since we didn't have all the stuff required for a blow through, and we started the car. I was so happy to hear it run so well and I began to notice that the engine was in awesome shape. Here are some pictures of my car in my drive-way, hopefully i'll get it painted when i come back from my training mission with my Army unit.

Sounds good. Those 1g maf setups really do completely suck, no? When I upgraded to my MAF-T it was like night and day.

You should've kept the laser tails. Everyone has a Talon....

Sorry for the black-out guys but, i will be painting the car soon.

I need opinions on this idea i have, i want flat black but... i want to do gloss black on the hood, roof, and hatch seeing as i'm gonna swap them out for Carbon Fiber ones in the near future... so what do you think?

Do the whole car in a real deep gloss black. Black Lasers are the win. The matte black trend is just that, a trend. It will never come close to a brilliant shine.

at first thats what i wanted to do, but i like the way BIG Ted's came out and i've always been a fan of the B-2 Stealth Bomber look soo thats why i want to do it that way, plus i'll be a very unique looking DSM in Tulsa, all the other DSMs are either white 90's and 91's or red 92's, the only unique ones are mine, this white 97 GSX, a white 95 TSi, and one other gloss black 92 TSi, i just want the sleeper look and since i gutted the interior "Pictures Coming Soon" i really want to do it "stealthy".

Let me just clarify, i'm not trying to copy someone else's style i just like the look, and thats what i wanna go with, but if sometimes other people have better ideas

Well, on Thursday my friends brother came into town, and he's an old school DSMer *cough*works for Forced Performance*cough* he's gonna tune my car for a bit today and then we're gonna take it to the track and see what she can do! So far we did the math and here it goes:

90 Ply Laser RS-T: $200.00
Repairs: $350.00
Parts: $450.00
Tune: $150.00

Total: $1,150.00

Not bad so far!

ok so the 80 amp alternator fuse went out along with the alternator and the battery, so since all but the fuse are under warranty, i took them back and got a replacement, and bought the fuse. The car now runs better than ever, we checked all the vacuum leaks and we messed with the translator settings a little but and the car runs SO much better.

Dyno Sheet coming soon

well...... here's a story for you guys....

My car was down for like a month right, and it was sitting at this shop I used to hang out at like EVERYDAY, so the owner, the tech, and I are pretty cool. Well their "salesman" gets a call from the shops landlord saying she wants my DSM of property because its been sitting their for like a month. I tell him to tell her that I was coming to fix it THAT day, and so when i go to the shop... my DSM is gone... so needless to say I'm pretty pissed off. The guy tells me, "I tried man I tried" but he's notorious for BS so by now I just want to rip his head off. It took me a month to get it out of the impound and now that I have ALL parts required to fix it, ITS ON. I'd like to thank the moderators for not locking my build thread due to inactivity, and I would like to thank this forum for being such a well of knowledge... so now I will be able to build my car the way I want it built. With that said, here's the new list of parts and to-do list:

Parts:

FMIC
DSMLink
GT30R
BC 272s
TRE Stage II w/ LSD
Good Tires
6 Puck Un-Sprung (HELL YEA)

To-Do:
Swap Transmission
Re-Do Dash and Interior

Damn did it cost you something to get your car back ?

So you put 266 down to the front wheels through a 14b and 20psi? Did it hold 20 to redline or did it taper off? I WANT DYNO SHEETS!

Our setups are pretty close....minus the broken trans mod. haha

Good to hear things are picking up on your build. Did you decide on paint yet? I'd like to recommend the Lamborghini Revention Stealth Black. (I'm having my Z painted that color with deep gloss black painted 2007 rays 5 spoke nismo wheels). IMO its the meanest looking color combo around. Plus I don't think cops can catch you on radar because it is Stealth Black. Vrooooom!!!

Well... It peaks at 22psi then tapers to 20psi up to redline, I'll have dynosheets up as soon as my friends come back from their vacation. All I have to say is C16 works wonders LOL
