Okay, okay....by now you guys must think we're crazy or rich (DEFINITELY crazy anyway!). Well, we're doing it again, but this time with a twist! We're building a rear wheel drive, full tube chassis 4G63'd racecar, which we hope will net us some 7 second timeslips! Will we accomplish it? We certainly hope so!! The details of the car are as follows:
1971 "Plymouth Colt" full tube chassis 25.1E NHRA certified car
32.5x14 Goodyears on the rear, Moroso DS-2's on the front
Strange suspension and brakes
Ford 9" rear with 4.11 gears and Strange axles
Custom fiberglass nose straight from Puerto Rico
Engine:
2.0 4G63 with R+R rods and Arias 8.8:1 pistons
Borg Warner S480 (and soon an S475) turbo
Tial wastegate and blowoff valve
Crane Cams
8 160lb/hr injectors
Wilson Manifolds 90mm throttle body
Gato Performance intake and exhaust manifolds
REV valvetrain inside of a ported and polished head
Aeromotive mechanical fuel pump + regulator
Mezeire electric water pump
Griffin radiator
Driveline:
G-Force GF-5R clutchless 5 speed with torsion bar upgrade
RAM adjustable twin disc clutch
custom made driveshaft
Electronics:
Haltech E-8
AEM 5 bar map sensor
Daytona Sensors Methanol Wideband
Painless Wiring
This car was rescued as a project that was scrapped. We bought it and decided to attempt to resurrect it. In some pics you will see some rust on the chromoly and other areas, but we have a sand blaster which will make that all go away. Yes, the car looks ugly, but it's a work in progress, and we won't put it out there until it's right! So....without further ado...........
