This is the story / build of my first performance car, for the most part I know what I want from the car and am willing to wait / save to get the right parts the first time around.
I picked my 97 GST up in JUN of 07 from a guy in FL. I payed 2,500 for it, now I see that I paid to much but o well.
I drove the car for about 2 weeks before the motor blew, the guy was runing a stock 6 bolt with a 16G at 23PSI at the time I did not know this was bad but I still turned it down to 19PSI just because it made me feel better.
When the motor blew I did not have the money to fix it so I parked it and started to save for a stock rebuild, what should have been about 3 months or so turned in to all most a year before I had found a machanic who had a 1G, we started talking and to make this short what started as a stock rebuild turned into a 2.3 stroker.
I got it back and drove around for about 2 weeks before I drove from FL to NY due to getting reasigned to VA. in Nov of 08.

As the car sits right now.

Motor- 2.3 stroker, Eagle H beam rods, Wisco .20 over pistions, 4G64 Crank, Clevit bearings. Brian Crower springs and retainers, S/S valves. 3 angle valve job, everything was balenced and blueprinted.

16G turbo/ 255 wally fuel pump/ Fidanza 4.3 ceramic 6 puck clutch with arp flywheel bolts/ V3 ECM LINK/ boost, oil, a/f gauge.

This is turned in to a huge project but I love it, I have learned so much from trial and error and really from talk it self.

Future plains are to
- upgrade to a duel valve spring so I can put the FP3 cams that I have in.
- as for everything else I want to do thats not all set in stone yet, I know that I want to get in the mid to low 11's if not better I know nothing about bench racing or what this set up will/can do. just know what I read and hear from talk, I do a lot of reading but still am looking for the right way to go, I mean I would love to say I have a 10 Sec car but shit who doesent thats the ricer side of me. lol. sorry.
I have read and heard that the eagle rods can only hold up to 500HP but I have also read they can do over 650HP so who knows but thats why I was hoping I can get some good advice from the talk comunity.
So please feal free to give ideas and do's and dont's.
I will update with pics of the car and the blow motor in a couple days.

Essentially, you just need to copy the IMG code from your photobucket account. Highlight a photo and you should see a bunch of boxes pop up underneath. Copy the code next to the box that says "IMG" and just paste it in here. Like this:

Best of luck with the build.

Ok so here is the hardest thing for me to ever have to say on this forum.
I am selling my GST :(

I have been working on this car for about 2 years now, and the entire time my dad has been telling me to sell it, lol at first he was always jokeing and new how much I truly enjoyed working on the car.
But now it has come down to more of a money pit then I can handel.
I will be back but when I do it will be in a GSX and in a hell of a lot better shape to start with and not hacked. I am glad I got it in the long run because I have learned so much from everyone here that has helped me.

I apoligize for starting this build thread and not compleating it, It is just a better choice for me to get out now, and start again in a year or so.

Could a MOD please delete this build.
Thanks
James
