Symborski Shifter Kit question

Hey, I had a short shifter + the Symborski Shifter Kit in my car that was installed by the previous owner.

I hated the short shifter so I swaped out the whole shifter assembly(stock) from my parts car, but I kept the Symborski Shifter washer like busings... I didn't bother replacing the rod part of the kit.

Will I notice a huge difference, if I go back and replace the longer rod part as well? Is it worth the effort, or are the washer like bushings enough?
I don't remember what the stock shifter felt like (been using the sucky short shifter too long), so I can't really tell if it would make a difference or not.

If you're refering to the 'sleeve' that you put inside your shifter, you'll probably want to install that. It eliminates a lot of slop from the shifter itself.
