I'm going to post more as I go along. I'll start with pictures of how it looked when I drove it a few years ago. Since then I sold it, and bought it back. Yes I am a glutton for punishment!

I bought the car when I was in HS in 2002. It was a repo car at the bank I worked for w/ no turbo possible blown engine. I picked up a 'killer' t-28 online, a handful of other parts and got to work. Just a few weeks later I had it running and began building my dream car.

I sold it a few years back for a trade/cash deal of 6k plus a 92 miata, and a 93 celica gts (which I also owned twice) The car also came with no wheels as it had those huge chrome ALT wheels.

I bought it back cheap with turbo issues. Began replacing the turbo with a small 16g. While tightening the I/C piping a down pour began!!!!!! I just wanted to pull up to my garage, there was a rag which I didn't see close enough to the cam gears that it could be sucked in. Infact close enough it WAS sucked in. Resulting in many bent valves, and some broken.

After sitting in my garage for a few years it was time to build a 6 bolt!!!!!

What kind of front mount is that?

That is stock from a Starion. I got lucky when I came by this one. I haven't seen a starion FMIC in a long time. I was about to blow almost 100 on a supra side mount, but a fellow member of lvdsm decided he needed a massive i/c and I was able to scoop this up.

Some updates. Tonight I'm going to take more pictures. I just removed the front bumper for the FMIC, and the headlights one was foggy and had a pint of water inside. I'll be repairing the headlights, and getting rid of the ghey silver inside the housing. Step by step install photos of the starion fmic. If I can get the crush washers somewhere in this valley for the oil jets I'll be building an engine today as well. :D

The starion isnt a bad fmic. I dont think they can do much more than 300hp of air flow though. Ive rocked one for a long time. I put 2.5 ins and outs on it. They dont do bad for being a factory fmic. Good luck with the build!

I'm hoping to be around 250-300. We'll see what I put down when it's all said and done. I am planning on putting 2.5 in/out as well. If I don't go broke before hand. I just got myself involved in a mess taking apart the headlight to drain the 1/2 in of water which was residing in there. I'm pretty angry at the outcome. I bought a kit which has resurfacing pads, a buffing wheel, and a gel which polishes the headlight lens. You know what, I'm going to post this in a body/tech thread...Bottom line it came out shitty, I'll post pics tomorrow. I need sleep.

I could use a punching bag in my garage, I would probably throw less tools if I did.
Good luck with the build, I'm sure it will be nice to have it on the road after having it sit for so long.

Haha the punching bag is a great garage mod. I used to have a speed bag as well, but that felt the wrath. A great addition is a skid steer with forks...that is aggression release at it's finest.

Is someone sitting in the upside down donor car? Polishing headlights is a bit tricky. Have to be careful not to melt them with the buffer. Just wet sanding can do soo much for foggy lights. 300hp should be very easy for you to get on a 16g with that fmic and very minimal mods.

Yea that's a friend of mine... I am not sure what else I can do to cure the fog, the resurfacing wheels were basically wet sand paper, followed by a sponge style wheel/polish. I considered laying a light layer of tint inside the housing. I am not sure that is the route I REALLY want to go. I may just leave it as is. I was busy this weekend we had two pyrotechnic shows, including one that was 43 minutes with almost 3,000 shells ranging from 3-12 inch. I am about to pass out for two days. When I get back on I'll have pics to post of the headlights in various stages.

I went a little darker, I also plan on one more wet sand and a clear coat over top.

I did mine too, they 1st time I sprayed they I went about as dark as you did, the next time I went way darker... they need more clear or polished yet.

What did you both use? VHT has a purple colour to it unless it's sprayed really dark.

I used the VHT niteshade. It looked great at first, then I wet sanded it smooth and hit it again now it's black-black. I may sand it down a little more before I hit it with clear. Once I get that on there they will be shinning.

VHT niteshade, they are still reflective and light up at night.

I'm getting agitated with the outcome of the markers. One is perfect the other I have resanded and repainted like 10 times each time I get a new problem. Cracks in the finish, bubbles, it runs. I am not a happy spray tinter.
