Well let me first start off by saying that this build has been through the course of about 8 months.
Last summer or fall my car was impounded. Well after the 30 day hold it was smoking like no other. I couldnt get it to stop. I was looking for an excuse for a rebuild and this was it. The valve stems were shot. So i was only going to mildy upgrade the car ( you know clutch, flywheel, intake, bigger injectors etc. So I went ahead and started buying parts thinking it was a 7 bolt (lol I was and still am a newb to these cars). Started with the gaskets, oil pump, waterpump, bs elimanator kit, etc. But I couldnt stop there and started buying everything i could get my hands on a good price. Safc, evo 8 injectors, 190lph fuel pump, greddy front mount IC, greddy BOV, b&m shifter, and tons more which you can see on my page.
Well after breaking the motor down and getting it machined, we went ahead with the rebuild. I started to try and put the rings on the pistons and turned out it was the wrong size. After a closer look I realized they were wiseco pistons with 1 g rods. So I did a more thorough investigation and turns out that these were stroker pistons!! So now im juiced and pist at the same time lol. I have a fairly new stroker motor!! Found out it was built at a very reputable performance shop. So now back to the drawing board.
I had to reorder all 6 bolt parts instead of 7 bolt. Because the block was a 6 bolt and head was a 7 bolt i had to find the gasket conversion kit.
The funny thing is, is that I bought this car at a junkyard for 2200 i believe and they didnt even know if it was turbo lol. But it keeps getting better. With a closer look at the turbo i realized it was an evo3 setup from Forced Performance. The turbo looks new still with no play. So I basically this was a steal for 2200 lol.
So back to the build. It was a bitch to find these rings so I had to go through wiseco directly. So for a couple weeks off and on we got the main part of the motor done. But then my friend got locked up and my mechanic was gone lol.. So i had to get it towed to my house and it sat and sat and sat lol.. So then i had a shop finish the work.. Alot of shops wanted over 1000 to finish it but I was able to find one that only charges a mere 350 to finish the motor, install the IC, install the gauges, and street tune it!!!!
So here are the pics I need to take some completed ones but these give you an idea of what it looks like.
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!!!
