View Full Version : New Evo! Traded my GSX.

Well, I didn't have my GSX for but a few months. I made a relatively quick decision and traded my Eclipse plus cash for a 2003 Evo 8.
It has 49k original miles.
He ran an 11.9, has around 380whp. Tuned, boost spikes to 28 psi and holds ~23 psi to redline.

Bumpers, headlights, taillights, roof were all changed to Evo 9.
Brand new Evo 9 5-speed transmission.
New ACT HDSS Clutch Kit
3" Megan Racing TBE Exhaust
AMS FMIC
Speed Source LICP
Muse UICP
Speed Source Shifter Bushings & Clutch hose
AMS/Muse Small Battery kit
Walbro FP
Tein Lowering Springs
AMS Motor Mount kit
New FP evo 9 turbo w/ install kit
Jun 272 cams
PTE 880cc
Aluminum radiator
TRE LSD rs T-case
All other supporting mods, brand new tires, new front rotors and pads,timing belt just replaced. Probably more mods.

Nice Evo indeed, but you got to wonder if the owner wanted a IX so bad, why didn't he just buy one lol?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the stock bumpers might have had some damage, so he just replaced them with Evo 9 parts...Not sure.

Oh you got his evo, nice. How much did you have to give him on top of your gsx? Pics of the gsx? I was going to trade him too, but I don't think he cared for the clutch in my car.

How much did you have to give him? And did you get a quote on how much to fix the quarter panel?

8500. And I just got a quote today. My friend recommended a guy to me and he quoted me $600. He said that the damage wasn't critical enough to replace it so he will just fix it.
It will be getting fixed Monday.

EVO is very clean, Weird as hell he did not even test drive the GSX.

I know whos evo that was! LOL Chris took very good care of it while he had it from what i know. We were thinking of a heads up trade for my 1g for awhile, but I dont need two evos, and he realized it wasnt a good idea, I guess. LOL The car is very straight minus the quarters and the pass. pillar.

Car is very solid though man. Glad you got it.

Got the whole passenger quarter panel fixed (including pillar). It looks brand new! Well except for a few other spots.. :)

I will post pictures within a few days, hopefully.

I've actually given it some good thought, but I think you have to have the JDM rear bumper to go wingless. It just gives it a more "tight" looking rear; the stock bumper looks huge.

I agree. I will be getting the JDM rear real soon. I have a wing now, but the carbon fiber was so bad on top I just had to paint it all black. So I really want one with the carbon still.

Yeah a JDM rear would be awesome, but money is tight after buying the car, haha.

The guy you got the car from has a buddy that would gladly trade you im sure. Just call chris and ask him about it.

If you ever want to get rid of those headlights, let me know. I have been trying to get rid of my blacked out 8 headlights for awhile, with no luck.

I forget what shop it was (STM?) but they got the red transparent spray and made their own EVO VII style lights. They came out really well. You should check it out.

Thanks guys! I'm definitely still in love with it. I drive it pretty conservatively, but its hard to stay out of boost. :)

I got to say if anyone is thinking about getting one, but not quite sure, do it! You won't regret it.

I might agree that they look "cleaner" wingless, but I don't agree that they look "better" luckily this is our opinions lol. Since the wing is functional though I don't hardly see why anyone would want to remove it short of drag racing or going for all out top speed.
