I hooked up my stock REAR speakers to my amp in 4x50 mode, I have aftermarket speakers in the front. The rears are way louder and I have to turn the gain up for my aftermarket speakers, which is something I don't like, the rear speakers sounds harsh anyway. What can I do? What will fit in the rear? I have a 95 GST, thanks
whatever you recommend doesn't have to be bassy or big, as I have a crossover and it would just rattle my panel anyway.

I had a similar problem with mine. I assume 2g's have 6x9's too. Presently I'm not running them at all (5.25's up front and 2 12's that's all) and I have a nice soundstage and imaging. I was running the interiors on a 4x50 @ 2ohms and the rears were way to loud that close to your head. I couldn't fade it so I unhooked them. Try fading first, then gains, then test it with out them powered at all. Then you could bridge your amp and get like 100W/channel to the fronts, making them sound better/last longer

that's becaus ethe factory speakers are more efficient than the aftermarket ones. IE they take less power to make them loud. so w/ all things being equal, the stoks will be on the verge of breaking up way before the aftermarket ones will, but sound louder at the same time.

Yeah.. I had the front speakers only previously like you,
and then I wanted to have rear sound too, so I changed to 4x50. The stockers were way to loud I have to turn the gains up for the front and the sub, it is now to a point the gains is almost distorted. That sucks.. the stockers sound so damn harsh, and I'm sick of the rattle panels. I'm removing from my car again.. less weight too.

If you have a Crutchfield catalog check the depth for your rear speakers in their chart. Just get any speakers that come close to that depth. At the worst you'll have to hammer down the metal behind the speakers a little. I did that and it fit fine.
