Faster now Ted?

I was wondering if you were playing with the speed here. For whatever reason, the board seems ALOT faster all of a sudden! I thought you had mentioned it on a post recently. I've got the same speed connection as always...but page load is way faster now.

I didnt do anything. The two main variables are server load and internet routing. The server is *usually* pretty fast. Internet routing varies depending on what part of the country you are in, and what ISP you use. Internet routing depends on lots of providers along the way and a slow-down with any of them can make a web site look slower even though it is not to blame. Hopefully your route sped up. :)

For the past couple of days, the forums were horribly slow for me and a couple of other people here in San Diego. Me and AWDMIKE858 have cable modem and some of the other people have dial-up. It was slow for everyone. But now it seems to be back to normal.

Gotta be a routing issue affecting you San Diego guys. Actually the last week has been some of my fastest access yet. Doing a traceroute is the best way to find out. I should post a tutorial on that in here some day so that people can check that first... I know anyone with Win98 or better can do a traceroute with no special software needed, probably other OS's support it too.

My access to the site is also faster these past few days. It was never overly slow but it is noticable better now.

Yeah, it was slow for a bit there. Now I can actually multi-task and watch the forums. Actually allows me to post more. :) Probably why you see me around alot more. :D
