Can I buy an HKS super sequential bov for a 2g gsx/t. Or whatever that one is that looks kinda like a bullet. My friend has it on his vr4. sounds pretty good. What mods do I HAVE to do or SHOULD do before that? Can I put it on before I put on the intake? If I get an eclipse turbo I want to put on a bov as soon as possible. I wanna know how soon I can put it on my car. Whats the loudest bov any of u guys have heard? Alott peeps have the greddy type s bov, is that good or loud? Whats a good bov?

well i dun have the hks ssbov but ive heard it before...it gives off a alrite sound...very loud..very high pitched...but i'd recommend gettin a cone filter first....wit the cone filter your stock bov would make a sound...if u do decide to get the ssbov i would suggest gettin the adapter to vent back into the intake. Its pretty expensive...but if u're goin for the sound i say get it. Btw if u're deciding between a gsr teg and a eclipse gsx/gst...go test drive both...im sure the gsx/gst is gonna make u certain which one u gonna want.

I have a Apexi BOV and love the sound it makes, but am disappointed that it makes the car run rich. It does this because it doesn't vent back into the intake. That is why everyone runs the Greddy Type S. Besides, sometimes it's better to follow the pack and get what you know works. If everyone else is running it, then you know it must work pretty damn good.

i have to agree with talonboy, get a K&N and that will get you your BOV sound. i did this and was amazed at the new found volume in the stock BOV. i have since put on a 1G BOV and it sounds about the same. sorry i don't have any other BOVs to compare, but this is all i've heard for myself. with the K&N the turbo is also more audible and the filter itself makes a cool noise. later,
PAUL
ps. the 1G BOV does HOLD! i hit 20psi -no noticable leak, but the boost was quickly turned down.

I have an Apexi Bov and it sounds awesome.
I now run the 1st gen bov cause it make the car run smoother. My friend has a 1st gen crushed bov which is not vented, and it sounds nice-not as loud as mine though.
My brother has a Turbo XS-Type H Bov-sounds crazy-like a whip. By far, I think the Turbo XS Bov is the best one, cause it doesn't buck or cause your car to stall or run rich.

I most definatley like the HKS Super Sequential. It is by far the loudest and coolest sounding BOV I have heard. I have heard the 2g's with cone filters, vented, 1g's crushed and vented, greddy's, the blitz super sound...pretty much all of them except the Apexi and the Hahn. The HKS is expensive but I am saving my money for one right now. You can also buy sound adapters to change the sound, whistles, and now the recirculation kit for the eclipse. There is some good info on it at http://www.alamomotorsports.com . (not a plug, just a good place to look at it.)

Peace!! :D

I've heard that the Blitz Super Sound BOV is supposed to be loud. I haven't heard it personally but a couple of people have said that it sounds nice.

I have heard the blitz, holy $*#& is it loud!!! So is the Apex. The only thing about those, is the venting into the atmosphere. not sure if they have adapters to revent.
the blitz looks sweet, polished!
I have the greddy type s and its pretty decent.

The blitz now has a recirc kit too I think!! The little horn on the end screws off and you put a tube type dealy in its place to attach a hose to......But trust me, my roomate has a Blitz and it doesn't compare to the SSQ. He wanted to sell his after he heard the HKS SSQ. But, the best way to know for sure is to try and get out there and hear them for yourself. ;)

I have a Greedy Type-S, and vented and loosened it will be very loud, except your car will run like ass, and really rich. It's loud..

I've heard both the Blitz and HKS SS, and yes they are both loud too, but they make a totally diffrent bov sound. The Greedy is more like a pop/whistle... The BLitz and the HSS are more like air rushing sounds.

In my opinion Greedy Is the best bang for the buck in terms of sound, because you can always vent to impress, or dump to perform.

the HKS SSBOV is louder than Blitz "Super Sound" BOV??

Can it bolt onto a 1G flange, and how much is the re-circulation adapter?

Yeah, the HKS is quite a bit louder. Don't get me wrong, the Blitz is pretty loud, just not as loud as the HKS. The recirculation kit is like $40 something bucks. Check out the link to Alamo on my above post. They have it.

Well, I'm more concerned about the performance. Is this super sequential thing a gimmick?

Do you know 1G and 2G flanges are the same? I saw they have the kit but it specificly say it's for 2G. My upper IC takes a 1G BOV

i was at road america for a track day and one guy there had the apex and oyu could hear it over the oopen exhausted v-8's easily. also, i was about 1/4 mile from where he was at on the track and you could still hear him blowing off.

I have the Blitz SS bov on my car and its the loudest BOV
I've ever heard. It does have a recirculation kit and I am using that currently.....but when the BOV was letting out to Atmos the sound it made was simply scary......a huge explosive sound. Under a bridge just forget about it......
the sound is simply too good.....

Get the Injen Intake Pipe as well...that makes the intake noise sound like a Jet. If your only concerned about performance any good BOV that can hold 25 psi should do. I would get the XS BOV because it is not too costly and can hold high boost.

Turbo XS makes a Type H BOV, it puts out sound levels in excess of 110db, now thats loud! http://www.turboxs.com

OMG that's nuts!

Hey if the BOV was recirculating, wouldn't it be significantly quieter than if it was venting to atmosphere? I assumed that's one of the main reasons some BOVs are so loud.

exactly, as a reference point a car horn is around 120db so the type H by turbo xs is allmost like beeping the horn when you let off the gas, in moderation, lol

im not sure bout th Db range of the other BOV's

I have the Apexi unit and the sound is more aggresive than the Type S,(it sounds actually like VENTING, like when youre mad tsssssshhhh) but it runs just a little bit rougher. im not sure about the Blitz. The HKS sounds very awesome though, but if its loud you want its either the HKS or Apexi.

the hks SSBOV makes a different noise than the blitz, just thought i'd throw that in for you. The ssbov doesn't give one full blast of air, it kinda sounds like a super-dupper flutter noise....Chu chu chooooooo vs pppppssssshhhhhhhhhhfffftttt

What the heck do you guys put on your HKS SSBV a microphone? :-) I have had both of them and I think that the Blitz BOV is just f#cking scary! The sound is very intimidating. The only thing I did not like with the Blitz is the plastic elbow that connects at the top. Mine deteriorated after constant contact with my hood. I had it replaced with a brass fitting after it broke off. The HKS on the other hand sounds like two BOVs going off in sequence during high boost but sounds like a whistling Greddy Type S when driven like a granny. It's not as loud as the Blitz but the quality seems to be better.

HTe HKS does have a unique sound and the reason is that (1) it is actually 2 valves instead of just one. The little puprle spike in hte middle is actually the first vavle in a dual stage mechanism. the black disk that the purple spike is in is the larger part of the valve. Under low boost only the purple opens, but as boost comes up the both open. rreason number 2 is that the HKS is a pull type not a push type like all other valves on the market. This means that the valve actually opens downward toward the intercooler piping instead of upward into the top of the valve. With the HKS valve you'll never have to worry about leaks due to high boost because the more boost you run the more pressure there is sealing the valve and pushing it closed where as on push type valves the more boost you run the more pressure there is trying to push it open. THe reason you see some of these guys running 2 valves is due to the amount of boost they are running. According to HKS anything over 26psi can not effectively be bled off by a single SSBOV so you need 2 of them or the new big ass racing bov
