Is it just me or has the site gotte really slow for anyone else? It has gotten to the point lately where I have to wait 30 seconds for a response sometimes. I thought maybe it was my computer or my connection but I have no problems with any other site. An example: After I reply to a post and hit submit reply button it sometimes takes me 20 or 30 seconds to even see a change in the screen. Is this happening to anyone else or should I look into it on my end?

I just got a cable modem last week so I typically now have no slowdowns due to connection or routing. The pages have been real fast, I mean REAL fast :) since I upgraded, but I occasionally get major slow-downs like you mentioned. My host's resources are not the best. For example, I had to upgrade this script because our forums were slowing down the whole server! And although DSMtalk.com is busy... lets face it, in the realm of the internet, it shouldn't be maxing out a shared server (but it does sometimes). So I suspect what you are experiencing is a temporary server slowdown, either caused by us :) or some other customer on the same server. I have found that the problem typically goes away w/i 5 minutes... worst case half an hour.

Tonight it is lightening fast, click on a subject and the whole thread apears, most of the time it is pretty quick, although sometimes the server is bogged and slows me down, other than that it's been pretty fast for me, I'm on a ISP Lan system.

So far, so good for me. Very quick. No complaints at all. I couldn't get a cable modem, so I have DSL now...

It was horribly slow for me last night but it is fine today. Last night I couldn't even get onto the site. :(

I've got cable :)
Although when I had posted a message it froze so I posted it again and again thinking it didn't go through... 3 times it posted! You know thats just normal web crap guys!
All websites do it occasionally.

Yeah as Saintdog said it is normal web crap :) I've used several hosts and they all have problems from time to time. If you know how to do a Traceroute, it is pretty surprising to find out how often it is the internet's fault too (and not the host).

Heh, my college's T3 doesn't let me notice much slowdown.
But from home on a 56K, I try to stray away from visiting DSMTalk. :) It's not horrible but it takes some 30min to visit all the forums (or at least the ones I usually read).

I've discovered that if I experience a "slow time," I back all the way out of dsmtalk and then re-enter. It's worked everytime so far, knock on wood...
