Theres my car for now. Waiting for my drift front bumper, fmic, konig verdict wheels (black opal) and a new white paint job for the whole thing. Also going to be lowered.

Dont take this the wrong way, but CF hoods are ugly and over rated, I like the hood on Evan2's car before it split and flew off but thats just cause the colors went well together, but a CF hood on a 1g isn't all that great lookin, especially for the money you have to put out for them.
and im doing the same as you w/ mine, street drift kit, paint job, but first i have to drop in my new engine ....which should be getting here anytime now, damn slow truck drivers.
but yeah, thats bout it

Looks good man. I've only seen 2 on a 1g (92-94) I kinda agree with the rest of the guys here, it looks kinda wierd without something else done to the car, but it's a good start man.

I just ordered mine today to replace my "skin cancer" hood.... should be getting it in a week... i ordered it from MBautosport.com for $450 + tax... imma pick it up from them cuz shipping is way too expensive @ $100. it's also available from booststore.com for the same price. It's made by TCS (TC Spoilers)... should i or should i not put hood pins?? i don't want it to fly off like evan2's (http://www.2gnt.com/dcforum/DCForumID15/2263.html) but he said it was because he forgot to latch it and i flew open cracking the bond before it eventually flew off..

I put the hood pins on mine for the added safety and unworringnes I would have now. When I drove around without the it flapped alot but now its pretty smoooth which makes me feel alot more comfortable and safer.
All the other pics had my finger in the way (lol) so gave this one. I like the angle and you get the jist of were I put them. Its right where the bolt was to hold the lights I think it was. You have to drill all the way threw because it doens't just unscrew. but its pretty easy.

You could still put it on for our viewing pleasure :D
hot damn fspdeejay, post some pics asap, yours will be the 1st 1g with popups I've seen with a cf hood, and your car is red too, so if I got one I know what mine would look like :D
Always wondered if it would look odd or not with the red popups, too bad there wasn't an aftermarket headlight conversion to make your popups look like 300zx ones, now that would be badass.

installed it finally... i think it looks good, but i think i'm going to have to go to the junk yard and get black covers for my headlights... i think it's the black roof that makes it look ok. if my roof wasn't black it would look kinda out of place..

i did it the putty way... you put putty on the hood and then put the hood down so that you can get an imprint where the pins were in the putty... then you just mark that and drill...

I think I might have to get one of those. My hood is full of DA sander marks from when I got it painted. One of the guys DA'ed it too much and left little craters all over the hood. I was thinking about filling them with body filler, sanding and having the hood repainted, but it would probably be cheaper to just buy a CF hood, and it would look good on a black 1G, IMO. Did one of you guys say it would be 100 bucks to ship? Damn thats pretty steep, but it is a big package. You guys think it would be cheaper to just go with the CF than to have mine fixed?

Prices are in Canadian. Just multiply by 0.638 (todays exhange) for the amount in US$.

My 1G has a CF hood. I payed about 350 for it. I got really lucky though - the shop accidentally got a 1G hood and I just happened to ask about one just after they got it. So. they gave me a little discount so they wouldn't have to pay the return shipping. Way cool!

I think the easiest place to put hoodpins on a 1g is right next to the radiator braces where the rubber hood bumpers are... you just pull them out of the hood and drill the hole all the way through and mount the pins on the bottom. I put some 5/8" heater hose on the pins so I still have hood bumpers (it vibrated alot without them).

Well, I wish I could say my hood was flawless too, but I can't. There were a few little air bubbles that were trapped in the resin, the weave didn't lay exactly perfect (although close) near the one corner, and the styrofoam "frame" underneath can kind of be seen around the perimeter of the hood. Hey, I'm picky I guess :P. Other than those things, I really can't complain considering the price plus my car is no show winner either up close. I'll let that stuff slip because the price, weight reduction factor, and the hot looks outweigh the other stuff. :D

Your hood looks nice. Frank does nice work. My hood isn't perfect either but it came from the old mold he had and the newer ones look twice as nice. Can't beat the price either.

Is it just me or do you think they should sell carbon fiber headligt covers for the 90-91 cars? It looks unfinished with out them.. on a black car its not TOO bad... but they stand out so much otherwise... id rather my whole nose be a diff color:o

PRSRIZD, use the http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/images/top_search.gif button. Franks Fiberglass and Darkside Motorsports both do.
You can also PM members that have posted pics of their cars on this thread.

What wheels are you running? Tire size (sidewall, width)? How much of a suspension drop did you get? Your car looks perfect IMO as far as how it sits, not to mention the CF hood does wonders for the black/champagne ambiance. Your car is my new background!
