how about a java based chat room?

seems like this site is getting to the point that you can almost carry a conversation thru the posts...always a 5-10 members online at any given time....

a chat room would be a very nice addition :)

It really does require a HUGE userbase to be successful. We are big and getting bigger every day, so we will get the numbers to make it active. After we get up to the number of users that can pull it off, then we'll try to resolve some of the issues mentioned in the thread I posted.

BTW - 5 to 10 members online at any given time wouldn't come close to justifying a chat room, because that is way to small a number of people to get any activity going. BUT, I don't know what time of day you use the forums, but we have had as many as 55 members online at the same time :)

Yeah i kinda underestimated the amount of users..last nite when i made that post,there was 40ish users on,i just meant that at any given time...weekends,3 in the morning,etc...the board never actually dies like some do ...that is a great achievement!

it's amazing how fast this board has grown in the short time it has been here....member wise and activity wise...it's easily hangs in there with some boards that are a year or two old
