Hey I need some help on tranny codes and info on flywheels and pressure plates for my car. First of all I have a 93 Eagle Talon 2.0 4g63, non-turbo, fwd. Now what tranny code do I need f5m22 or f5m33???? I think the 33 were for the turboes and the 22 were for all the nons even 1.8 liter. This really doesnt make sense because the Haynes manual calles the 22 a 1.8 liter tranny?? Then I checked with my friend he has the same car but Eclipse and he has the 22!!! Anyone else out there have the exact same car??? Please check the number on top of the bell housing!!

How about a 93 Laser Manual?

that might help can you check either the plate on the firewall or the plate on top of your tranny and tell me what tranny # you have is it a f5m22 or a f5m33? Also do you have a 4g63 engine? Thanks!

The 1.8 engine wasn't offered on the Talon brand and also my technical manual says that the 2.0 NT Talons used the F5M22 tranny.

Hey thanks Blackboost what manual do you have anyway? My Haynes manual messed things up. Do you happen to know anything about the flywheel for my non-turbo car. Summit Racing keeps sending me flywheels that are either for turbos or have the wrong bolt pattern. I know I have a seven bolt but Im not sure if the flywheel is supposed to have offset ears on it. I know the 1.8 flywheels dont have the offset ears on it. Pardon my non-technical terms. The problem I have with the ears on the turbo flywheels is that it pushes the clutch plate so far out that they are bound to the inside of the tranny when you bolt it all up. Any help is greatly appreciated. THanks!!

Mine is the W5M33 (AWD tranny), so that might not help you. Anyway the flywheel you must use is a 7 bolt one from the tranny you have. If I am not mistaken, the NT flywheel will rub on a turbo tranny housing and you must machine the housing so that if feels correctly. Try looking at the sticky NT to T conversion on top of the NT page and look for the info that Mavisky posted about the trannies. He made the conversion and has details on the flywheels and trnnies and how to swap them correctly.

THanks for the help first of all. How well did that awd tranny work for you? Do you have a fwd. If so did you just leave the extra drive axle open?

actually the turbo flywheel rubs on the nt bellhousing, not the other way around. you'll need a 7 bolt flywheel that has no offset ears. the offset ears are specific to the turbo cars. the flywheel you need should only have 3 little pegs for alignment. and by little i mean no more than 1/2 inch

My car is a 91 Turbo AWD Talon, so it comes with the AWD tranny already.;) Follow Mav's advice since he knows a lot from this NT and Turbo FWD tranny swaps.

Hey thanks for all your help guys. Summit called and apologized for the whole mix up but they cant find an aftermarket flywheel for the '93 non turbo talon. So Ill just go back to where I got the tranny and buy the oem flywheel. Anyone have any idea as to how much the oem weighs. The aftermarkets are coming in around 8 and 9 lbs. for the aluminum flywheels.
