Exhaust bypass/cutout?

Has anyone done this on their car while retaining a stock or other exhaust system?

I was thinking that this might be a great way to get great performance when needed and still retain stock noise levels for just running about.

I'm sure some of those running in the StockAppearing class for the Shootout are using something like this.

So... nobody here knows about this? A system that can switch between a dump to atmosphere and regular routing to the full exhaust system?

I have not used one personally but from what I've read, every one of them ends up leaking unless it's the type with the wing nuts on it.
