Hey everybody.. Well I have a 1990 1.8 Eclipse and the ECU is dead and I got an ECU for free from a 1991 1.8 Lazer... does anybody know that if the ECU from a Lazer will work on my Eclipse? and plus my car is an automatic and the Lazer is a manual.... Thanks.

I can only assume that I wont work. Im not 100% sure on the NT dsm's, but the 90's had different pin-outs than the 91+'s dsm's. Altho, it wouldnt hurt to just try it out? Unless you already did and it didnt work for you.

The pin outs are different for the MAS, so that could be why it is idling so low, and could also be the reason for when u apply the gas pedal nothing happens. Do a search on ECU, and you will see how some other people have used a 90 ecu for a 91+ dsm.

I moved this to the new 1.8 liter sub-forum for you, maybe you can get more help there.

the ecu between the models... eclipse talon laser are the same... because except for the body differences they are structuraly and mechanically the same... excuse my spelling. there however may be a difference in years... but i doubt that... i have only run a 94 and 92 ecu in my 94 1.8.... id say try to check your connections... also check to see if your throttle moves when you press the gas... and you can try to adjust your rpms @ idle by turning the screw above the throttle turn it in to open out to close... try in to allow more air in...
let us know what happens
