i suppose that this could possibly be better suited in boyd tech and appearance, but becuase of the 1.8l's universal lack of body components i figured that it would be ok to post here...if you wanna move it go for it,
i was wondering if anyone has done any body/inertior modifications to their 1.8 to make it look like a gst or gsx. im thinking about doing ia few mods and i was wondering who all has done it. if you have and are able please post pics.
thanks

Then you will need to get the standard GS, GST and GSX body kit. It will add more weight to your car but you will get the look. Just my .02.

Exterior... no. But inside I have all leather seats out of an awd talon and I replaced the center console so that I now have the armrest and cupholder insert thingy. And I put in a rear deck (the thing over the trunk area.) So inside my car the only differences I have from a turbo model are the door pannels/speakers in the doors and the instrument cluster. I want to get a 94 talon wing next I think. I assume the ones from 94 are the same as the 92-93 wing, is that correct?

any front/rear bumper cover will fit on the 1.8s. its basically the same as all the others. be careful on the side skirts tho. search around the body tech section, some good stuff there.

well, last I checked my car doesn't have any side skirts. the thing I was refering to is that some skirts are made for the gs-t and gs-x which have factory skirts. the aftermarket ones are made to go over them and might not fit the DL.

oops sorry i just noticed how lame that sounded:rolleyes: the side skirts that i was referring to were at the junk yard and they were on a gst. thats where i got my chin spoiler and i was going to get the side skirts and decided against it.
believe it or not sometimes i actually make sense:D

I have installed the stock GS-T and GS-X side skirts on a coulple of NT cars (from the same generation that's). They look as good on the 1.8's as they do on the other models.

Well let me ask you a ?. What did you do about installing those skirts on the underside of the car? You know where they are supposed to bolt/screw on? If it is a 1.8 then there are no holes like mine were, right? In what way did you make it where you could bolt the underside up?

They have bolts only on the lower part of the skirts. The upper part is hold to the car by the same plastic clips that hold the carpets to the doors and by 2 sided tape. Just align them with the body and drill the places where the clips and bolts go and you're set.

Yeah but what holds the bolts in over time? Won't they eventually vibrate out?

I left some info about on my first reply...
Well, you only have to drill holes for the clips that hold the upper part of the skirt to the car. The lower part of the skirt is attached to the car by bolts. But those bolts are already there!! The front part of the skirt is attached to the car by the same bolts that hold the front fender to the car. The back part of the skirt is hold by just clips and double sided tape. That is on the Eclipse skirts...

Thanks. I know about the bolt that are there for the fenders but I was thinking of bolting the skirts along the underside of the car to help stabelize them better (you know along the underside from the front fender to the back fender). I am just trying to get ready for my FX skirts that are coming in soon.

i might sound like an idiot for asking this but since theres all this confusion about the turbo vs 1.8 sideskirts, will a drift rear and sides fit on my 1.8 cause i can get them for free from a friend??

The 1.8 or 2.0 NT cars don't have side skirts. That's only available on the turbo models.
As for the body kit pieces...
Get them and see if they fit nicely. Keep us posted...
