Now this isn't exactly a part from an aftermarket vendor...
But, it is such a great mod, the part is readily available at boneyards, satan, the trader, etc.
I had fully hacked my 1G MAS per the FAQ's. http://faq.dsm.org/
Idle was a little rough, but not too bad. In my upgrade path of securing supporting mods for a 20g or bigger turbo, I decided the 2g MAS was needed for the widely known reasons of bigger, better flowing, better scaling of air flow for fuel-cut purposes over the 1G MAS.
I got one for $150, guaranteed good. Rewire was done per the FAQ's, see link above. I chose to solder all connections. My particular install is a little different than most. I installed mine using a customized DSE 3" intake for cold-air intake. Pics are on my site, the link is in my sig. Idle is superb! This better flowing MAS lets the turbo spool-up faster and pull harder at the top-end...:D
You WILL NEED an APEXi S-AFC, unless you are installing 550 injector's at the same time. I did my 2G MAS install with the stock 450 injectors still in the car with the S-AFC. You will also need an upgraded intake pipe of some kind, Injen, Dejon Tools, DSE, etc., specifically for a 2G MAS. The intake connection is bigger and oval. You also need a 2G K&N, the 1G will not fit.

When you got your 2g maf did you get the harness for it as well or is there a place you can purchase them? I tried looking on the faq about it but they dont mention it.

From FAQ...
2G MAF plug (or ignitor plug, or none - see text)

Mine didn't have a plug, I soldered new wires into the MAS plug connector pins. I would check the boneyards for the MAS plug or the ignitor plug if you got to have a plug.

You can still use your 1G K&N if you make (or buy) a simple adaptor plate to go between the air filter and MAS.

Dejon tool sells these.......

Van,

I also have the 2GMAS on my 1G and I am using the K&N FIPK kit. Did you vent your BOV to Atmos? I would also recommend an EGT gauge when using a 2GMAS on a 1G(IMHO).

I have the 2g MAS custom-mounted lower than most people, probably way different than most too. Check out the pics at my site...
Venting a bov to atmosphere is generally not a good idea. The added noise doesn't make you go faster. My stock cbv at 17-18 psi is loud enough to scare people.
EGT gauge is there, check out the site pics...

You are right, Dejon tools does sell an adapter plate. I forgot about that... I definitely wanted the filter clamped around the MAS; much better, IMHO.

Van,

Just an interesting note...

Evil Eagle did some Dyno Testing with my 1G intake. Turns out it gave him 12hp at the wheels.

Not too bad for only $17!!

I would think it would add more depending on how many more mods you have...

WOOHOO, I knew my highly calibrated butt-o-meter wasn't lying! Did he put on a 2g mas too? I would think that would even be better...Great mod Bill!

Nope, that was just with a 14B and a 1G MAF, I can imagine with a 16G or larger it would make an even bigger difference. I know it did with my F3.

VAN,

does your airfilter/mas get whet when it rains. how do you deal with that...does it dry quickly?

I haven't had any problems with it yet...A little water could be a good thing; cool, moist air.

I finally got my 2GMaff on and I've got to say this is my favorite upgrade, above all fmic, turbo etc, I still can's believe how much my low and top end have improoved! and the idle is great! Install required some mods of my intake tube but it wasn't too bad, and of course it's outfitted with a mighty K&N :)
