I took off my MBC and magnecores a couple of weeks ago to do a little experiment on my gas mileage. Anyway, I thought with the MBC off, my car wouldn't be able to take on some of the Mustangs that roll around San Diego. This weekend, I found out I was wrong. I was cruising on Northbound 805 just minding my own business when I see this car haul a** in my rear view mirror. It was like a 90's + Mustang GT trying to catch up to me. Well he pulls beside me and stays right at my door..inching forward so he's side to side with me. I look over and he looks over at me and smiles. We instantly and simultaneously floor it and we were off.. I downshifted to fourth and I pulled a half car length ahead of him but I didn't pull anymore. If I had gone to fifth..I know I would've killed him by atleast a car and half. But we hit traffic and we slowed down. I let him pass me and as he passed...he gave me a thumbs up and a wave. I thought..hey...cool guy. The other encounter with another 90's Mustang GT was onramp to westbound 52 coming from North 15. On the 0nramp...he was riding my bumper bad. I mean really bad. If I had braked..he would've hit me. So I downshifted to 2nd (was on the onramp so I couldn't go that fast) and floored it. I heard my tires screech and I was gone. I looked over in my rearview mirror and I was 5 cars in front of him. I saw him stick his hand out the window but I couldn't tell if he was giving me the finger or the thumbs up. Anyway..he finally caught up and passed me without even looking. Oh well. The first one I think was lightly modded...the second..well..riced out. Lowered with the tires flaring out 3". LOL. Anyway....that was a great weekend.
