Ok I kinda feel dumb for asking this because I know it has to have been asked/answered somewhere here before but I searched and cant find it anywhere. Ok.. Can you use a 2.0 nt clutch on our 1.8s? Are they just stright up switchable between the two or can they be slightly modified to fit? Im asking because a friend of mine just turboed his nt talon and 200 miles before he did that he bought a brand new act clutch (i think it was a 2100). And he got a whole new tranny cause he wanted the different ratios or some crap.... anyways i can get the whole clutch kit for $150. Help me out guys....pllllease!

I don't think so, but I am not 100 sure on that. I believe that the flywheel on the 1.8's is smaller than the one on the 2.0. So that would make whole clutch combo useless for the 1.8 engne. The 1.8 cars have a 5 bolt flywheel and the 2.0's could either have a 6 or 7 bolt one...

I've heard that it won't work. The flywheels are too different.

Just to be sure...

Try checking the "All 1.8 things here" thread that is on this forum. I am sure you can find info on the clutch applications for the 1.8 engine on the thread. It's a long thread, but there's a lot of useful info in there.

Yeah i was reading throught that again last night and i got like 10 pages through and feel asleep... it was all too familiar, lol i've been with that thread since page 1. Thats probably why i KNOW it was talked about somewhere.... just cant find it.

My friend bought a 2.0 clutch for his 1.8 and had to take it right back cus it didnt fit.
