I have a dodge stealth with the f4a33. I was going to get a transmission shop to do it but he was giving me the run around.

After he said "If you think the job is so easy you would be doing it yourself"

I told him I can and will do it because he was giving me a bullshit attitude about working on imports. He even owns me money.

But anyways so now I plan on doing it in my gargage. If I get one of the floor scissor jacks would it be easier?

Or should I use an engine hoist?

It is basically the same as pulling a fwd turbo tranny.

Any help would be appreciated.

It really isn't too hard, although it really isn't very easy either. I started to replace mine and gave up b/c I got tired of f*cking around with it. I took it to a local performance shop to finish it.

Dropping the old tranny is easy, but I would suggest getting a transmission jack when installing the new one. Also, bolt the new tranny up to the engin block before bolting on the torque converter as it will be much easier this way. Once it's bolted on you can rotate the converter with a crowbar to get the bolt holes lined up.

Good luck with it.
