Hey has anyone on here had their airbags replaced or done it themselves? Because i found an airbag that hasn't deployed and i plan on installing it into my car, but someone told me i might have to replace some sensors or something on my car in order for it to work.. is this true or can i just plug the new one into where the old one plugged into and it should work? Thanks!

I don't think you can legaly replace an airbag yourself unless you have some kind of certification. I'm not positive though.

Did you find anything? I'm in the same situation. I've got a car with blown airbags, as well as the new airbags and computer (if that's even needed) to replace the thing. The only stipulation is that when this car is back together, it CANNOT throw an airbag light.

Anybody know about these sensors?

Hrm, good question. Thread title clarified.

Let's ship this to the Electronics forum to check with people who have rewired their steering column and/or airbag computer.

I wonder if an ECU reset tool is what's needed, once the replacement is finished? A-la Pocketlogger style?

You have to replace the sensors and airbags if they have been deployed. just unplug the battery to reset. the system self checks itself everytime the key is in the on position. this should work
