:)
Whats the difference between the Black spring and the other coloured springs for the shift kit. Some people run the black one, and others run another one. Thanks guys for the help. Its great that we finally have an AT only forum!

Black is the the hardest, red a little less, pink for normal shifting.

BSOD = Black Spring Of Death.
RSOW = Red Spring Of Wisdom
PSFP = Pink Spring for P****** :)
I think if you don't drive the car in alot of traffic the BSOD is the way to go. If the car is your only source of transportation and see's alot of miles the RSOW is a wiser choice, hence the name. I have gotten into a couple of traffic jams since putting in the BSOD and the clunking is kindof scary. It kicks butt at the track tho.

I just recently went to the red on mine (used black for 30+K).
The only difference on the new install is the Sonnax Manual valve. I have the same if not more power and the damn clunking is gone.
I lived with it but now it's gone. I have to admit it is nice.
According to the old Translab instructions, the black is to be used with a modded TC. I used mine with the stock.
I have to put more info on the site reflecting all of this new stuff including a new AT FAQ. I have to go and do a valve body now for someone.

After talking to Dean Mason today (The creator of the Translab Kit). He stated (If I get this right) for normal driving use the red spring.
For High Perf. IE: going to the track a lot and modded TC use the black. A normal Turbo street car should be fine and see good results with the red kit.
Now I have used both.... see previous post.
After my rebuild and Stall TC, I will go back to black.
