Tranny problem??

[96 Turbo Talon]

I was driving to school today, and the car seemed to be shifting just a little strange. One time at WOT, it almost felt as if the car shifted twice into second. It felt fast, definately not as if the car had shifted into 2nd and then quickly into 3rd. Speedwise there didnt feel like there was any problem at all. However, later during the drive it felt somewhat strange during a shift.

I know the question is vague, but was wondering, is there any telltale signs of a tranny about to go bad? I checked the fluid level, looks fine, doesnt look dirty or anything. I changed the fluid about 5000 miles ago.
