Replacing distributor on 1.8

I purchased a distributor for my '91 1.8 Laser. The dist. I bought came from a '90. I have read on the forum that there were two different distributors, or two distributors with different wiring. Lo and behold, the distributor I bought has a different harness than the one I'm replacing. Am I out of luck?? Or can this be used with some creative wiring?
The distributors are identical except for the wiring.
Any help would be appreciated.

The 90's had a different dist. if I remember correctly. i'd take it back and tell them you need one for a 91. I don't know why the 90's have different engine parts, but it's true.
