Hey guys.. (i read every thread on s-afc)

i feel like a complete fool...im staring at all the guide to install apexi s-afc and i dont think "confused' as much as i am Scared.. alright..drivers side, console..

so i just Splice the wire from the S-AFC in? a la cut and then solder the s-afc wire into it?

jeez..i need my hands held all the way through this..
am i right in thinking this?

and if so.. is it jsut me or do these guides suck? no picture? god its .....too much to expect from me :(

me = stress...

questions? comments? flames?

First, 20min isn't that much time for a reply. I search/read these forums for 8 hours a day while at work and I don't even check that fast. Takes me 30min to get from Tech Central, through Parts and into Lounge etc.

Here's a site from a guy Scott who does it often. Met him in a race on my way to work. :)

As i said, ive looked at all the vfaqs and rre's, apexi's install guides they are all the same..

just answer the question : I just connect the wire from the apexi to the wire into the ECU so it makes "T" (but solder so its a good connection)

right..?

Should he be soldering or using the easier-to-use snap-on wire splicers? I used the snap-on ones to install a tach in my civic, and they worked great - no messy solder or carcinogenic fumes :) I'm not sure if they're the right thing™ to use, though.

If it is hard to get to use a wire tap. But if it is easy to get to you should at least use butt connectors.

alright, i did it tonight with a friend who is damn good at solderin..

we got it all hooked up (we think) according to the Vfaq one, but we arent using hte white/yellow (i believe) becuase it didnt say anything about them, i hear they are for rx7 anyhoo..

i start car, turns on fine...S-AFC starts up.... bling bling my check engine light is on, every thing *SEEMS* to be working fine, but my S-AFC isnt getting a "AFL" (i think air fuel ?) bar...i get throttle and RPM though...any one have any idea what i did wrong? i'd be much appreciated.....

thanks guys

RRE's install is much more explanitiory..

god :) good hting i called in sick work last 3 days hehe

okay...so should my check engine light be on? because my car drives fine.... and i think we have everything right here...in RRE's it says "Cut or swtich to turn check engine light off" so its normal to have a cut engine light or what?
