Cruise Control not working on 95 Eclipse

I own a 1995 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE GS that has the cruise on the left side of the steering wheel. I think the previous owner added it because it is right below the headlight switch. anyways, it doesn't work. if it was added there is no fuse right? any help.

There won't be a fuse in your fuse-block, but there should be a fuse in the aftermarket install line somewhere. Try to find the brain, and check for power and ground.

will the fuse in the after-market line resemble the fuses in the other fuse boxes? thanks.

It depends on what kind of fuse came in the aftermarket cruise control package. That unit could have come with either, the blade fuses (ATC), or glass fuses. The best thing to do is find the brain, and check for power AT the brain. Use a computer safe testlight to look for switched power, constant power, and ground. You should also read what kind of unit it is. It should say what make it is right on top of the brain, and it would greatly benefit you to get a copy of the owner's manual, and the installation manual (if they came separate). You can find most of this information right on the web, unless it is a no-name or a low-name brand. Then you have to call or write the company.
You have other steps to take if all of the powers are present at the brain, but try to get the book.

i found the brain of the cruise control sitting next to the engine, not even mounted. it has no brand on it. just a little sticker with like 7 numbers. i also was looking under my dash and i see a wire with 2 fuses connected to it. does this make whatever that line is connecting aftermarket? thanks.

Yes. Manufacturers of cars fuse all their connections at the fuse block (s) so you can eaisily check them. Fuses placed elsewhere are always add-ons.
