lighting Question

I recently got myself a 93 Talon and I was wondering if it's normal for the headlights and gauge lights to come on when I start the car. If I turn the switch(headlight) on or off it only turns the stock fog lights on/off. And I just recently installed a new deck and the dash lights(HVAC) don't light up and niether does my alarm light when I arm it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Your airbag light should stay on for a while. It's not uncommon to see a Check Engine light on in a DSM. The security light wouldn't come on if you have an aftermarket alarm installed. If not, something is wrong.

I thought daytime run lights were only standard on Canadian cars back then :confused: Maybe your car was a designated Canadian deliverd car :dunno:

Daytime running lights shouldn't turn on the gauge lights. Did it just start doing this? Or did you just get the car and notice it? Sounds like someone did some rewiring for kicks.

They're not running lights that come on it's my headlights. As soon as I turn on the car they are on, along with the gauge lights. Turning the headlight switch doesn't do anything. Any idea where the dumbass would have re-wired them or how? What about my HVAC lights or the aftermarket alarm light? Could it be my dimmer switch?
