Great idea (file this under refrence)
Just wondering where the cruise control light is!?
(on my 97 GS it would be where the hole that you have labled as SRS *the 1 on the right in your pic*)
But good job.. I see myself refrencing this quite a bit in the future...

Damn, your right. Where is cruise? LOL
Actually, I think it might be next to the SECURITY light, where I've got it labelled as the Speedo. I'll check on that tomorrow...
The SRS light on the far right is actually not used on my car, both spots light up the same warning light. Probably used differently on other cars like you said. This gauge cluster housing is probably the same identical part that is used on all 2G DSMs and Sebring/Avengers.

Sure :) I'll dig up the Mitsu part numbers for the bulbs as well, I have a few extras at home. The two gray sockets are larger 3watt bulbs.
Also, give me a chance to double-check a few labels today at lunch. Something still looks wrong....

I the problem is w/ the 2 SRS labels you have. I will look @ mine on lunch but I think the left SRS is the correct label.....

Yes it is.
Both the holes labeld SRS light up the SRS panel, but your cluster probably only came with one bulb, like mine, in the left side. You could put the bulb in either slot and get the same effect.

Ok as promised:
The Mitsu part # for the smaller bulb is MB066068
I don't know what the larger 3w bulb is.

I'm trying to find some colored bulbs to swap into my 2g gauge cluster, which I understand to be #74 size. While doing a search, I found the following link...
http://www.lightlens.com/coloredbulbs.htm
If you scroll all the way to the bottom, you'll see what I'm talking about. Can someone tell me if that's what the factory bulbs look like and if it'll be a simple plug-in swap?

The 194 bulbs at the top look correct. The part number I posted above from Mitsu is just the bulb, and you reuse your old socket.
I supposed either of those would work, although you don't need new sockets.
I wonder if any of the bulbs on this page would fit on the autometer gauges :) Good link there, this page might have exactly what I need to color-coordinate the rest of my interior!

So if I just purchased a couple of those bulbs ( size 194 ) from the site that was just listed, it would be plug and play to swap bulbs? Or is there anything else required?

try this place for LED bulbs, better than regular bulbs and they got #74 like we need MUST cheaper than that link up there too

Update:
The LEDs can also be found here (http://www.superbrightleds.com) and are even cheaper. I did buy some from the above link before finding this site, but oh well.
The 74 bulb is what the 2G cluster uses, and you can get colored LEDs with or without the sockets. The 194/168 bulbs are not used in the 2G cluster. I'm not sure what bulb is used for the gray socketed, 3w bulbs on the turn signal and low fuel indicators.
Also, if you try adding colored bulbs/LEDs in the cluster you'll have to find a way to sand off the colored paint on the back of the gauge faces and indicator icons, as they are colored and any non-white light would not look correct. Search the archives for a handful of posts about sanding the gauge faces and needles for this effect.
Also, Autometer gauges use 168/194 size bulbs and I've installed blue 168 LEDs (the 4-LED kind) in mine and they work well. Not as bright as a light bulb due to the backlighting opertaion, but still readable at night.

The O/D OFF bulb in the 2G instrument cluster is unique to the rest of the bulbs in the cluster.
It consists of the socket and bulb as a integral assembly and burnt bulb could be replaced only with a socket. Having this bulb burnt in my 2G I went to the nearest Satan, but got nothing. They don't carry those bulbs in stock and in fact they don't know which out of the three listed bulbs part numbers is which. And they also ask 8 or so dollars for it.
The solution is quite simple. Any bone yard would have Mitsubishi/Dodge Colt. The instrument cluster of the automatic Colt will have 4 or 5 bulbs of this kind that could be obtained for next to nothing.

I believe the 74s are the two big ones but they dont seem to fit in the holder for the little lights.

Here's the original again. A mod should grab this file and store it locally so it doesn't vanish again.
