: sweet rota pics, take a look
eagleflyinlow 10-02-2002, 12:12 AM Hey gang, I've decided on Rota sub-zero's as my choice for my new rims. I'm having a tough toime deciding which color i want though. I've photoshopped up a pic that compares the silver, bronze, and gunmetal on my car side by side. I still can't decide which i like best, all feedback is welcome. I know this isn't the worlds best photoshop job, but that was't the point, i just wanted some feedback.:P
The bastages at imagestation won't me link directly  so i guess you'll just have to use the link, sorry guys

jcarothers 10-02-2002, 12:39 AM I've been lovin the look of bronze wheels on cars lately, but for some reason the silver wheels just fit your car perfectly.. what size are you goin' for anyway?
eagleflyinlow 10-02-2002, 12:43 AM i'll be doin the 18's, @ only 19lbs they are damn light for 18's so why not?

The weight seems good, though a big concern with having 18's would be running into potholes and bending the rims! Having 225/40/18's or possibly 225/35/18's just isn't enough protection for your wheels IMO.

There ya go :D
chilliwacko 10-02-2002, 04:40 AM all black looks boring, and bronze...meh.
silver is DEFINATELY the way to go :D
stevo 10-02-2002, 05:43 AM Get the bronze, or imma kill you.
Wilsonman02 10-02-2002, 06:00 AM They all look good on that car, and all black can be boring but i also think all black looks awesome, kinda of a stealthy look.

agreed
Hubbs 10-02-2002, 08:00 AM SILVER!!!
greenstreak 10-02-2002, 08:22 AM I have always loved the bronze rim on a black car look. That gets my vote.
ihatemycar 10-02-2002, 08:27 AM im all for bronze :D
Ronin17 10-02-2002, 12:06 PM I'd say bronze or black. I'm most likely getting 17" black subzeros or attacks from Rota. Damn i love their rims.
econman03 10-02-2002, 12:29 PM silver
eagleflyinlow 10-02-2002, 10:49 PM it looks like a pretty even split between bronze and silver, which i had already pretty much narrowed it down too. any other input?
eagleflyinlow 10-04-2002, 12:22 AM just thought i'd throw this back to the top and see if I coud get anymore input. Also does anyone know of the cheapest place to order from? thanks
turboawdtsi 10-12-2002, 12:39 PM Two of my buddies just started up their own business and currently have a group-buy involving Rota wheels. They can get you (4) 18" Rota Subzeroes in whichever color you choose. PM me if you're interested and I'll get you in contact with them.
PS The owner is a fellow DSMer (97 TSi, 6 bolt, big 16g, fmic, etc.)
** Edited the price out ** :o

Amen
fabry827 10-17-2002, 06:57 PM I say go w/ the bronze. I just had to make the same decision. i ordered mine a few days ago. Hopefully they'll be here tomorrow. I got 17" ones and I got mine in gunmetal (my car is white). Black cars with bronze wheels look great.
Boostn4 10-17-2002, 09:28 PM The gunmetal color in that rim is almost coppery looking. I called a company(that I ordered my subzeros through) and he said it looked more coppery then gray. I was looking for a dark gray color. He said they make em in a savanna gray, which is like a dark steel gray. But after I asked if he could get me the savanna gray he told me that they would have to be specially ordered because they were not in stock :(. Oh well I chose black and everyone tells me it will be ugly, I dont care, its my car lol, go with your instinct man, if it satisfies you, that is all that matters....
greyforestgst 10-17-2002, 11:04 PM weird
i wodner if gunmetal rotas are different wheel to wheel
mine are exactly how i wanted them to be

just ignore the wheel gap...
Brett95GST 10-20-2002, 06:05 PM Greyforest do you have any other pics of those wheels, they look pretty bad-ass.
Scott08 10-20-2002, 08:30 PM LOL it's looks like he has an Fing lift kit LOL ohh shit that's funny
but, nice rims
Eclipse97 10-23-2002, 10:29 PM PLdout...i dont think the 5 mm diff between 40s and 45s would really make a huge difference...that is assuming the average person would fun 45s with 17s...
my 2 cents...
greyforestgst 10-27-2002, 06:50 PM http://www.dsmtuners.com/gallery/data/500/1017return1.jpg
thats all you get.
i need to take some newer peekshurs.
wheel gap isnt as bad in this one for whatever reason. in any case, though, needs to be LOWER.
stevo 10-27-2002, 07:29 PM Tell me you do not park in there everynight. Good lord, you can hardly fit in there. Your front it pretty much touching. How do you possiable park in there?!
kyvahe 12-10-2002, 12:04 PM All of the colors are the same wheel to wheel, it is just that people often confuse the three colors: Gun Metal, Steel Grey and Savanah Grey. The gun metal is a gun metal, but rotas is very dark. The steel grey is a dark grey and the savanah grey is even darker. They are just hard colors to explain! Bronze is sometimes confused too, looks like a dirty penny. Here is pictures of steel grey battles on my car, i have white attacks in my sig..

StepOnIt 12-10-2002, 11:02 PM Damn those battles are very hot...never really looked at them...looks like I'll have a hard time deciding between SubZeros and Battles now...:D What's the price difference between the two anyways if anyone knows please?
kyvahe: congrats, I really love how the rims look on your car...very tight!
TechT 12-11-2002, 10:56 AM I like gun metal/broze on Black...My car is white so i'm with a all white wheel soon.
kyvahe 12-11-2002, 04:08 PM The Battles and the Subzeros both have the same retail on them. (same price) Thanks for the comment too, I actually have the rota attacks in white on my car now, they are lighter weight and I wasn't a big fan of the dark color wheels on the white car, I like my car to have as clean of a look as possible.
