i have a 1.8. i have had this problem for a little bit of time.
the problem is my car will not start first thing in the morning or after it has been siting for a few hours. i have to crank on it for 1-2 min. i have checked the codes in the ecu it is saying it is the o2 sensor i changed it i still am having the problem i need to fix it it is starting to get harder to start because i live in mi and it is geting cold any help would be loved:confused:

Maybe your battery isn't holding a charge or your alternator is going bad. It wouldn't hurt to checked your plugs and wires. Also, check your antifreeze. What is the weight of your oil? i.e. 5w30, 10w30, 10w40, etc., etc. Those would be my initial thoughts.

check out your coolant temp sensor and the attached wires.

I'm putting my money on bad capacitors in the ECU.

Where could one get the capacitors replaced? Would a Radio Shack or something like that be able to do it?

found out the problem it was the temperature sensor
thanks to the guy that told me to check it when i droped my car my intake tube fell down and broke one of the tabs off
i replaced it and car works great
